It is finished!

I'm sorry for all my questions recently. - I'm searching for answers to things that I cannot seem to find anywhere else.
It's certainly true that UR believers know their bibles better and I trust the information I'm given here because of the evident good fruits shown here!

When Jesus said:
"It is finished".
Is that it then?!  ...  It is literally finished? We can relax now right? There is nothing we can do to add or take away from what Christ has done?  We are ALL saved THROUGH THE FAITH OF CHRIST?  ...Or do we still need OUR faith? ...I don't understand.  I'm still not sure how someone is saved and what the 'evangel' is and everywhere I go (even in the bible) I find different answers...
Or...Are we ALL saved but not all for eonian life AND there is nothing I can do about that?  (If you don't get the faith given to you by God then there is nothing you can do about it)?

Jesus forgave sins on earth and the bible says that God forgave people in the OT (such as David for example).  How was this possible without 'the shedding of blood' ?...
...What I mean is that Jesus had not yet died upon the cross and yet God was forgiving sin...So why the need for the cross... Or was that to do with the 'lamb slain from the foundation of the world'?

Could someone perhaps teach me further on these matters?

hi, Marc, the shedding of blood in the Old Testament was the animal sacrifices done annually on the Day of Atonement - a "type" or that is, represented the one time sacrifice of Jesus.. and Day of Atonement - I believe - represents 'Day'/age of judgment, wherein all those who have not been born again will be saved/redeemed and united to God who is love, life and perfection. (Hence imperfection, come about through the ability to make choices - an offshoot of rationality - is the opposite of perfection/God/Life! Hence the redemption needed and "built into creation from the beginning/foundation".

Age of judgment I believe will last 500 years - the link/image to explain this is in my signature.

P.S - yes it is finished and we can rest in "believing".. And we can surely pray to believe, and to believe more firmly.. Practice praying and asking Him.. my :2c: :gsmile:

Age of judgment I believe will last 500 years

I am not sure about that MG. I am pretty sure it is more of a symbol of something.

Rev 20:4  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Revelation 20:5 is a false verse, as it contradicts others anyway. It was added around 300AD, according to Tischendorf.

1Co 15:25  For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 

That is how long Christ will reign. Maybe it will take 500 years as you mention. We will have to see.

Also been thinking, especially when I saw Ray mention this, that we will not be automatically "perfect" at the Resurrection. It will probably take eons and eons before we even get to that All in All state. Don't have any Scriptural "proof" for that right now, but just a feeling.

We are "begotten anew from above," but we are not literally born again, as we are not yet powerful and invisible like "the WIND."  Neither are you "saved" in the past tense. See my paper "YOU FOOLS! (Matt. 6:12).  We are to come to the place were sin "sin shall not have DOMINION over you"  (Rom. 6:14), but "if we say we have NO SIN, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is NOT IN US...if we say that we have NOT SINNED, we make HIM A LIAR, AND HIS WORD IS NOT IN US"  (I John 1:8-10).
