OK, this is going to sound strange, but I'm ok with that because life is strange..
Now, I posted the video about Campolo, and I've been watching a lot of videos today; some about religion some about political issues, etc...

Then I took a break to finish some things around the house, and it struck me: how silly, all these debates we (as humans in general I speak) have about God and how to walk as believers and how to love and what to believe!! It's as though we had discussions about how to play baseball but no one ever went out onto the field! How absurd!

One time I put a blurb on my website about the notion that Love cannot be talked about, because it is something on the "nonverbal" level. And it really seems true to me. No preaching, however well...no debates, no matter how elegant...can enter into the "holy of holies" of walking in Love. Even as I write this it all seems so superficial and "false" to me..

Perhaps indeed what we are all searching after cannot be put into words.

But all the words we use here on the forum do make it to be found easier.
And at least get a as good understanding as possible.
Nothing equals playing on the basebal field. But that doesn't take away the fact that learning the basebal rules takes you closer to teh playing experience that know totally nothing...

I think that this is largely what is meant when the Bible says that no one may confess that Jesus is Lord except through the Holy Spirit.  No matter how much we say, it remains the case that we can only put words in others' ears, not love in others' hearts.  As the saying goes, you can bring a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

Personally I didn't see much UR in that. It seemed kind of wishy washy. Yes I believe and teach Jesus is the only way. However...... <politically correct tap dance>. Joel Osteen got roasted by conservative orthodoxy for that too. But I do suppose it's better than "they're all gonna burn in Hell forever and ever!"

Well if Tony truly is a universalist, I wouldn't be surprised!

However, I've often heard sermons from our pastor (he does a great job preaching on the love of God) that sound very universalistic (unbeknownst to him  :laughing7:) but he is actually dead-set against the idea...
