Do you have system restore enabled?  Go back a day or when you believe you were not infected.

I feel for you.  I had an earlier version of the virus a couple years ago and I had the hardest, most frustrating time getting rid of it!  It changed my homepage to a pornography site, rerouted Google and various antivirus site to other pages, and shut off system restore as well as all my antivirus, antispyware, etc. programs!  Here's how I got rid of it.

Ewido is an old antivirus that is now called AVG.  AVG is free, but I always had problems downloading it - maybe it's changed.  Anyway, if you can't get to the AVG site, find your Hosts file.  If you're on XP, you will find it at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc.  Open it in textpad and see what it says. It should look like this:

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # source server
#       38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # x client host

127.0.0.1       localhost

That's my file, so if it looks different, go ahead and copy and past this into your own host file, deleting the old stuff there.  It shouldn't have Google or any other site rerouted to different IP addresses.

Once that's done, go look for an antivirus program that'll get rid of it.

Good luck.

Surf via this proxy. The trojan won't see to what AV you surf: http://anonymouse.is4u.de

Good tools are pro-active. You won't get infected at all. Fixing things afterward shows your security wasn't up-to-date. Make sure you update your security tools daily. I use www.eset.com and update hourly.

Indeed boring and easy to be forgotten. That's why you can schedule those tasks. Configure once and never look at it again.
