Title: 'You have heard that it was said'
Post by: Eduard on June 03, 2013, 07:57:48 AM
By these words Jesus made Christians stand apart from Jews and the rest of the world by giving them new, loving commandments. But isn't it said that God does not change? Giving different commandments wouldn't classify as changing? I am a bit confused.

The teaching approach made by Jesus is implied in the Ten Commandments.  It says first not to steal, but then later, goes on to say not to even covet.  Jesus is simply showing us what lies deeper in the ways, laws, and words of God.  Oh!  The riches!!  Building on what has been given, He gives us a little more...  Here a little, there a little, line upon line, precept upon precept...

I only follow Jesus, I was just wondering if God really changed or merely let us see the bigger picture.
