A lot of legal and illegal drugs are considered "Pharmekia" according to the Bible, and are linked with sorcery.  Sorcerers are to be thrown into the lake of fire.  Since, we don't see a widespread upsurge in magicians, then sorcerer must also refer to drug makers and drug users.  However, many primitive cultures still have a lot of sorcerers (in the non-western-drug sense), and psychic lines, Ouija boards are still quite popular in western nations.

What is your view on drug use, the 1960s counter culture and whatnot?

It is best to not get hooked on drugs of any sort.  It becomes a monkey on your back that some never shake off.

Glad I could help.

i was surprised to learn the counter culture (hippy) movement of the 60's began as a "Jesus movement"! But of course it got hijacked what with "free love" the breakdown of the family, and rampant drug use.

I'm not real judgmental on weed, since, imo, it is a plant thus made by God.. but "temperane in all things" of course!! and alcohol which is also a drug, the Word tells us "God made wine to make merry the heart of man" Psalms and yes it is fermented of the vine.. but also "woe to those who chase after strong drink, for in the end it bites like a serpent"! and of course there's the miracle of jesus of water into wine and it was a marriaage 'party' and the caretaker of it exclaimed, many serve the best wine first and then when people are well drank they bring out the inferior, but you have saved the best wine for last" - also of course temperance/moderation in all things.

And, the HS is so superior to any drug, alcohol or any invention of man!!

I pretty much figure our key is drawing near to Jesus, having boldness to enter God's throne room of grace for the help/transformation we need.. Didn't Jesus say, to simply not murder, isn't good enough.. to not commit adultery is not quite good enough! The transformation/grace which proceeds from within, from Jesus and the Father, not proceeding from without to in.. as with "the law"..

With the legal drugs pushed these days with all their side effects (my own father died from testosterone pushed on him by his dr and the pharmacy co's the dr I'm sure is rewarded by, my dad had already had a heart attack and a stroke. Testosterone at age 70, in his health condition, needed? well, it killed him, imo) and the worldwide heroin epidemic, phew.. and the immense wealth from these.. judgment is surely warranted..
