as all men have bore the image of the corruptible one..so too, shall all bear the image

of the incorruptible one[be raised up in Christ's image]  as long as this age of good/evil

endures we will have manifestations of vessels of wrath[carnal sensuous, lacking natural

affection, backbitersliars, murderers etc] as examples of such vessels..and vessels of Love

mercy grace,self-control as the positive contrast...until the consumation.

all these thing are openly displayed in the world in man's flesh[vessel]

hi! It's my belief this life is God's truth proving drama, as to what happens when one wanders from God who is life itself, the life force. Teaching all, man and angel, and will deeply engrave upon every heart and mind, that one simply cannot walk away from God, for to do so is to walk away from life. Therefore if one were to do so, would be to simply result in a self destructive puff of smoke.. collapse, fall, and ceasing to be (ultimately the full story of mankind/this life).

In most drama's you have the 'good' guys and the 'bad' guys, so to speak.. Some are "chosen" in this life, and some are vessels of wrath. If all were chosen within this life and there were no vessels of wrath, i'm assuming the all important lesson of seeing first hand the 'end' result of wandering from God/Life/Perfection, would not be demonstrated. Would not teach and prove to all, this all important message - you cannot walk away from God/Life. And how do humans learn best? By experience. Add to that what has to be a very long day of the examination of all things, all human history (important time of intense review). So that in the 'end' what God will now have, an un-breakable paradise.  :2c:

It seems to me that he is talking about the power of the potter:  doesn't the potter have the ability to make a lump of clay into whatever he wants?  I think it might be a rhetorical question.

Again, Paul is asking a question.  This one is about whether or not God has the right to endure anything He wants.  Notice the sentence starts with if (what if in some).  IMO Paul is asking if God doesn't have the right to endure anything he wants in order to show His power.
