Romans 8:9

Romans 8:9 NIV
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.

I have seen this verse, among many others in the book of Romans, used to assert that non-believers will be sent to eternal hell.

However, I am confused because doesn't everything/everyone belong to God? What does this verse mean in context of UR if not that non-believers will be rejected?

I haven't studied the nuances of this verse in regards to how the greek renders it exactly, etc.  However, briefly, trying to look at the whole context of scripture, here's my view;   not all are YET believers, i.e., part of the body.  There's an ekklesia (elect, "called out ones") now in this age, given faith to believe on Jesus as Savior.  The majority of humanity does not yet believe/have not been brought to know Him in saving faith yet, but will do so prior to the consummation, when every knee bows and every tongue confesses Jesus is Lord (Philippians 2:10).  Then God becomes All in All.   :thumbsup:
