"God cannot stand in the presence of sin" is something repeated a lot by people who believe in hell. It is the rationale as to why the sinners/evil people are segregated in another place called "hell" for eternity. I will cite some passages that I thought of recently, and some more that I found while searching, that show this isn't true.
In Genesis, after Adam and Eve sinned, God was there. It was Adam and Eve who tried to hide from God, not the other way around:
8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
This passage (Habakkuk 1:13) seems to start out supporting the ideas that God cannot look on sin, but then it says, actually God DOES look upon evil:
You are of purer eyes than to behold evil,
And cannot look on wickedness.
Why do You look on those who deal treacherously,
And hold Your tongue when the wicked devours
A person more righteous than he?
Then in Revelation 20:11-15 ESV it shows that all people (sinners) will be in front of God to be judged.
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Revalation 14:10 shows the tormenting (testing) with fire and brimstone (purification) will be done in the presence of the Lamb:
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out undiluted into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.
Jeremiah 23 shows that God is everywhere, and no one can hide from Him, therefore he is always in the presence of sin:
23 "Am I a God near at hand," says the LORD,
"And not a God afar off?
24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places,
So I shall not see him?" says the LORD;
"Do I not fill heaven and earth?" says the LORD.
In Job 1 6-8, I'm personally still fuzzy about the nature of Satan/the accuser/the adversary but he/it is considered evil, and here God is having a conversation with him:
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
7And the LORD said unto Satan, From where come you? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.
8And the LORD said unto Satan, Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one that fears God, and turns away from evil?
I'm also fuzzy about the trinity (at this time I believe that God is one, Jesus is his son, the firstborn, first fruits, the Word...and the Holy Spirit is God's active force/God dwelling within us), but Jesus also said that he and God are one...then Jesus/God was surrounded by sin for the entire life of Jesus, and he didn't shy away from sinners: he ate with them, spoke to them, and preached to them.
John 17 seems to point to the fact that, though Jesus and the Father are one, we will all be one when God is all-in-all:
20Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also who shall believe on me through their word;
21That they all may be one; as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that you have sent me.
22And the glory which you gave me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23I in them, and you in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them, as you have loved me.
24Father, I will that they also, whom you have given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which you have given me: for you loved me before the foundation of the world.
25O righteous Father, the world has not known you: but I have known you, and these have known that you have sent me.
26And I have declared unto them your name, and will declare it: that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
I tend to think the unity of Jesus and God are showing what our relationship will be with God eventually (always doing God's will, being united in love and thought, etc).
Amen !!! :dsunny: :HeartThrob:

I think we all have questions yet to be answered by the Holy Spirit when He reveals what has been hidden for ages .

Amen GodIsLove! :hithere: That is a great refutation of the idea that He being a Holy God cannot bear to look upon or be in the presence of sin.. He may indeed hate it, for He knows the results, the utter damage it does (to one, and the world) since the "wages (result) of sin is death".. And thus, alas, He simply cannot help i t- as the story goes - so very many will be lost.. You have (imo) proven that is simply not true! Amen.. the ET message not only insults His character (love) but also His attribute of being "Almighty".. Instead He is presented as being highly impotent, and very unable..

good point....God approached Adam n Eve n interacted with them both AFTER they sinned n were in their sin...never thought of that.
God withdrew His presence from David to reprove him for his sin, but He sent Nathan to prick his heart and redeem him from it.
IMO this is because God never ceases looking into our hearts and crafting the circumstances that will lead us back to Him.
Besides, even if God will not stand in the presence of sin, He is gathering to Himself a people who have been cleansed by the blood of Christ's cross.
For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, 20and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven. Col 1
So the idea that He will not stand in the presence of sin has no bearing on the salvation of all, because every knee shall bow, whether in heaven or on earth or under the earth- and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord -tho it may have some bearing on the condition of those who have not yet yielded to Him, according to Paul(1 Corinthians 15:23-28; Phil 2:9-11)

Yes Amen , an excellent reminder , God looks upon the heart
Jesus come in the Spirit of truth speaking every Word the Father told him to speak , that judges our hearts motives as to what is right or wrong , good or evil , Truth or lies etc .
John 12 48There is a judge for the one who rejects Me and does not receive My words:
The word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. 49
I have not spoken on My own, but the Father who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and how to say it. 50
And I know that His command leads to eternal life. So I speak exactly what the Father has told Me to say."...
Jesus Christ is the Son of Man and the Son of God and mediator between the heaven and earth that we all must enter though Him , Like the flaming Sword in the garden of Eden it can be compared to a right to the tree of Life ,[Holy spirit where the blessings of God 12 manner of fruits and leaves are for healing are kept from liars , robbers and thieves ]
As Jesus judged the 7 churches in His right hand ,in Revelation giving instruction by the way of Revelation to John on the Lords Day while in the Spirit testifying of prophecy to be revealed , that is now and to come , on how they are judged and what is at fault still and the rewards that are with Him , His right hand is the power to save or cut off . because of disobedience .
Having some what against them still to be known and corrected by repented of doing wrongly by His Spirit and Word working in them still .
Preparing a purified and holy people to be ready to receive the LIVING GOD and go boldly before the throne of grace without blemish /cleansed and ready , spot / sin, errors or wrinkle /shrinking back in fear .
Good things being said everyone !! helpful in deed , God bless and keep us in His love .
God cannot stand in the presence of sin?
Wouldn't that mean that Sin is greater than God's presence?
Good point!
I, personally, never heard that expression, before.
I did hear the expression often, that God helps those who help themselves.
We are supposed to trust in God, not in our own efforts, so the above statement, in my mind, is blasphemy.
And, God not standing in the presence of sin, does not fit into what I have learned about God, from the Bible.
As someone said, He ate with and associated with sinners very frequently. He was also in the presence of Satan, in the desert, and spoke to demons, through those that were possessed, so, for myself, I would just dismiss both of these statements.
D.
:2c: to me...sin can not stand in the presence of God,would be more likely....the very reason Jesus must/did take away all the sins of the world. :dsunny:
Sheila,
Great response! I hope you don't mind, but next time I hear someone say "God cannot stand in the presence of sin" (and yes, I have heard it many times), I am going to use your response.
Thanks in advance,
Pat

Adam sinned, what did God do?
He gave them a skin which is the same word as the first layer of a Hebrew wedding garment.
Four layers of wedding garment.
Four covenants.
That must be just random luck! Or perhaps not :Chinscratch:
:icon_jokercolor:
For Trinitarians especially it would be clear that God must stand in the presence of sin because if Jesus is God and He ate and drank with sinners, I mean- what do you do with that?
Also, at the great white throne, (whatever that will be like) according to Romans 2 God will judge the secrets of men's hearts by Jesus Christ- their hearts either excusing or accusing them in His presence. Whatever process takes place there(I believe that search is the lake of fire metaphor- "eyes like flames of fire"..."all things are open to the eyes of Him with whom we hav to do") takes place in His presence. :Chinscratch:
:Chinscratch: I think you are exactly right! A very good UR point!
I thought I'd already said this but clearly I forgot in some regard.
The usual understanding of this matter is not that God cannot stand in the presence of sin because that would be stupid. It would suggest that God is in some way fatally threatened by sin. God's purposes are threatened by sin in principle (although not in practice) but God is obviously not.
It is rather that sin is threatened by God. It is sin that cannot stand in the presence of a fully disclosed God (Jesus only partially discloses God in this model). In the presence of God sin must either destroyed or else changed so much as to be identical with being destroyed.
God avoid standing fully revealed in our presence to protect us from that danger not to protect Himself who cannot be harmed.

yes, I find this astonishing and a rebuttal of those who tell us God cannot stand to be near sinners etc.....I mean, here He is interacting/ conversing with the arch- sinner, Satan of all beings !...amazing.

Amen! Seems so simple really.. Logic, that is! When we get down to it, it's shocking the Et
good news still floats.. nothing in it makes any sense.. Not in the light of God's character.. not in light of His attributes.. and then finally, we realize it's been in our bible all along.. especially "the wages (brought/result) of sin, is...?" And Jesus paid what price? :friendstu:
:) Thanks, Marie! I thought no one was listening.
There is a mistranslated verse, where it says Christ was made sin for us(2 Cor 5:21.) It should be made a sin offering.
But just something funny, since if Christ was made sin, and God cannot stand the presence of sin, He cannot stand the presence of Jesus!

In Job 1 6-8, I'm personally still fuzzy about the nature of Satan/the accuser/the adversary but he/it is considered evil, and here God is having a conversation with him:
I don't know if I can shed some light on this subject or not but years ago when I was a teenager I used to wonder who Satan was and what he was 'for' (why God created Him) etc and I just couldn't find an answer so one night I asked God.
I had some sort of vision or 'OBE'. (Out of body experience)...I honestly don't know what it was. :Chinscratch:
I had gone to bed, was sitting upright reading a book, quite happy, everything as usual and suddenly there was a face at my window and I knew who it was.
The face was really contorted, staring at me, hating every fibre of my being.
I was totally frozen with fear and couldnt' look away from it's gaze. It was horrible. I knew it was 'the Devil' or the 'essence' of what the Devil is supposed to be (all evil).
A woman's voice entered my mind saying things like:
"(He is) every lie that's ever been told,
Every murder that has ever been committed committed"...
I also received an overwhelming message (though not in words or even telepathically) (it was like a big 'block' of information at once) which told me that humans who do 'bad things' believe they are serving themselves (by being selfish) but (spiritually) they are only feeding this...'monster/beast/Satan' (who hates us with a hatred that was ... actually hellbent on destroying us'. It hated me...Absolutely hated me. I've never felt so hated before or since. :dontknow:
It's really hard for me to put into words what actually happened... But the long and short of it was that when we do bad things we gain in no way...We just feed this evil entitiy and make it grow and I knew then and there that that was NOT a good thing. I realized when I hurt someone or lie to someone I'm not serving myself but feeding 'evil' (as a whole) and making it grow.
...I hope you can understand what I am saying... I still don't really understand it myself... :Chinscratch:
I remember calling out to God to get rid of this...'Thing' and I snapped out of it. :punish:
I 'came too' (still wide-awake) (but 'aware' (back to 'normal') and my hand was right at the light switch (reaching up to it) (I must have somehow been trying to put the light on whilst under this 'trance-like'...whatever it was.
It really happened and (for me) certainly answered the questions I had about the Devil...It makes sense to me, I don't know how it sounds to others...Especially since I'm so wary of other's stories of such things myself. This is the only time I've ever had such an experience.
Although the vision was terrifying at the time, when I 'came too' I just thanked God for showing me the vision (I knew God would watch over me (somehow) and fell fast asleep. It didn't worry me or anything.
In Job, God uses 'evil' for a higher good (Job gets all his family back etc and doubled) (the story is an analogy that we end up with more after we have suffered a little)...In fact suffering is necessary for growth.
Could I point you to one of my videos so I don't have to type anymore (as screens make me sick) where I really get into the 'problem of good' and the 'problem of evil'?
Basically sun and rain (good and bad) are required to create a 'rainbow', (that's the best analogy I can give)...
God uses the 'evil' for a higher good but once it has served it's purpose it is no longer required...Just as at first a flame can seem a 'bad thing' when we touch it because it can burn us but eventually we 'use' the 'evil' for 'good', using the flame for heat, to scare away predators (lol), cook food, for light, etc etc. But we only need to learn not to touch the flame
once and the lesson has been learned forever... In other words 'suffering won't last forever' once we learn the lessons from it. There is no need.
I'm sure you know all this GodIsLove, you're clearly a very spiritual person; i'm just putting my thoughts out there and perhaps you can glean something from them.
Here is a video I made covering a lot of this subject if you are interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvVwFdxWQqE&list=PLX9T-1jZxX7nvLF6Em590X5J9jJGgzkOy

I honestly am unsure what you are talking about, i've never heard of such things.
The womans' voice was very nice I remember, very clear, young. A beautiful voice I'd say. A voice with authority but pleasant with it. A kind voice. That was over 20 years ago but it's clear and crisp as if it just happened a second ago.

Great personal testimony Marc !
going to watch your vid , next
Helpful and can relate ! Godis love, right on! seems Satan came along with the sons of God Job 1 ;6
6One day the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them. 7"Where have you come from?" said the LORD to Satan. "From roaming through the earth," he replied, "and walking back and forth in it."...
I personally feel like I have just been drug though the mud for a long time and to hate evil in all its forms .
the wiles of satan , to tell you the truth the scriptures came up in my mind , when you spoke of the beast our carnal natures I thought of the devouring one another
Gal 5 Freedom in Christ
...14The entire law is fulfilled in a single decree: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
15But if you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out, or you will be consumed by each other.
16So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh....
I am convinced most do not know their natures , of the divine or evil and are very confused for sure , hate themselves , If you do not love yourself , you feel guilt and shame for being YOU !!
How can we love God or anyone else correctly ?
I do think that is the healing Jesus comes to do , for forgiveness of our sin nature and count it as dead and judged already doomed , only if we can get satan behind us and not be a road block to us .
We can begin to focus on the real deal .
To God and the divine nature , being made new and whole , the beast is an adversary if it is ruling over us , such as God told cain would happen to him if he didnt master the beast in him it would reign terror in his life /soul the very seat of emotions .
I believe at this time that the Lord Jesus Christ has to come in and clean the house ,our mortal bodies and heal us of the deadly wound in order for Him to breath upon us the Holy Spirit and anoint with holy oil and fire that sets the beast and liar and old satan on fire as the divine nature of God is a consuming fire that we can become a part of .
I believe that is the warring in our members and battle we are in as being mortals , calling them gods in the law of sin and death ,evil spirits that rule over mankind in the world , our flesh and in Romans 7 Struggling with Sin....
...22For in my inner being I delight in God's law.
23But I see another law at work in my body, warring against the law of my mind and holding me captive to the law of sin that dwells within me.
24What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?... 25 Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I serve the law of God, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin....
GOD totally understands this battle and nature better than we do!!
I am grateful for the knowledge of God to keep us all just pressing on though it ... I believe the mind of Christ , that anointing of the Holy Spirit will deliver each and everyone in their own order
according to GODS will and desire , when you have had a belly full of sin and hate yourself because its failing the test , it proves that in our weakness GOD IS our strength .
and as long as we are still mortal we can still be sifted . I have begun to notice that when Jesus mentions anyone's name twice , I believe he is still speaking to both natures the mortal and immortal one and he says each of you , making me think that , it is directly to the seeds in Peter body growing of the tree of knowledge of good and evil , the chaff /husks and wheat . one batch is for the fire the other for Gods barn , a separation of sorts .
Some think it is all the apostles and may be so , but to me he is directly speaking to Peter making it personal and for him to be warned .

"Simon, Simon, listen! Satan has asked permission to sift all of you like wheat,
NET Bible
"Simon, Simon, pay attention! Satan has demanded to have you all, to sift you like wheat,
New Heart English Bible
"Simon, Simon, look, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat,
Aramaic Bible in Plain English
And Yeshua said to Shimeon, "Shimeon, behold, Satan has requested that he may sift you all like wheat,"
Faith , hope and Love overcome the world and mortal state that it seems only Satan has access to for a short time , because the mortal shall be swallowed up in immortality
1 Cor 15
Where, O Death, is Your Victory?
...53For the perishable must be clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
54When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass:
"Death has been swallowed up in victory."
55"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"...
I have always not been able to read many writings .. why ?? because it would maybe stumble me , I have asked the Holy Spirit to teach me , many , many times over and over again and with a please Lord , you promised you would
I have always felt Jesus come to defeat death , and satan's hold over them on mankind/Adam 930 years [HIS DAY ], just shy 70 years of captivity our natural lives in mortal flesh in Gods mercy shortened the days [our Day] and it was finished at the Cross , but we see the daily sacrifice given still in every generation , as a proof to those that need to still believe in God, believe in Jesus also . our way of escaping the things to come upon the world .
and the 70 years [Day ] of captivity is under the guise of religion, all the lies , being Babylon the great whore of the earth ,keeping those captive that is setting us free by the TRUTH and is being destroyed by the FATHER and Son and all that is gathered already in Gods kingdom as immortal beings , that God had named them all from the beginning Gen 2
before they fell as stars from heaven ,
come to the earth and born of woman, under the law of sin and death in the flesh . but they are in mortal bodies every last one is found in Adam whom all doe but in Christ will be made Alive ...
Rev 7Then the beast was permitted to wage war against the saints and to conquer them, and it was given authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation.
8And all who dwell on the earth will worship the beast— all whose names have not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain. 9He who has an ear, let him hear:...
Just as the lamb was slain before the foundation of the world began , for me it is all coming to pass , as Gods Word is being fulfilled perfectly IN TRUTH , every jot and tittle or iota ,an extremely small amount.
2 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts.
2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done,
and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
Here is how I can see all the other scriptures unfold and opened up , JESUS CHRIST is his name , there is no name under heaven that we can be saved , but in heaven HE IS CALLED THE WORD OF GOD that never returns to the Father void or without purpose and is the sabbath day and 7th DAY rest promised to those whom hear His voice and will live and never die and LORD OF SABAOTH HOSTS and doing the works
and saying everything the Father taught Him to say and do while he was with Him and come down as a blessing and reward to us whom can experience the abundant life now to some degrees , 30 , 60 and 100 fold ,
and would do the greater works than these because He is now back with the Father and completing this all in the DAY OF THE LORD the 1000 year reign , defeating death and satan's hold on Adam / mankind 930 in that day you shall surly die and taking captivity captive from Babylon 70 years [the day or last hour of trial upon the whole world ] to every thought in Christ mind the head over all authorities , principalities and powers that be and the seals are opened and the vials are being poured out and every evil and sin is being exposed to the Light of His coming as the DAY gets brighter and brighter so openly that cannot be hidden any longer till the end .
That is it for me , and as those gathered into the BODY OF CHRIST anointing from the HOLY SPIRIT doing the works of old and making everything new and pure with sin nature to ever enter again because the TREE OF LIFE IS flourishing eternally
till God be all in all
1 Cor 15 The Order of Resurrection
...27For "God has put everything under His feet." Now when it says that everything has been put under Him, this clearly does not include the One who put everything under Him.
as the 7th DAY and sabbath rest created for man and the servant of all , not man created for it .God will not give His glory to another , but it by His own Spirit will GOD PREVAIL
28 And when all things have been subjected to Him, then the Son Himself will be made subject to Him who put all things under Him, so that God may be all in all.
29If these things are not so, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them?...
what can this BOLD statement Paul said mean than ? EVERYONE born moral has been baptized in death in ADAM
not knowing anything , because the dead know nothing Till the Lord comes and every knee bows and tongue confesses JESUS CHRIST is the Lord of the dead and the living for all will live to Him ...
Because Jesus can do as He please with His own things , He bought with His own Life
The Sadducees and the Resurrection
...37Even Moses demonstrates that the dead are raised, in the passage about the burning bush.
For he calls the Lord 'the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' 38He is not the God of the dead but of the living, for to Him all are alive." 39Some of the scribes answered, "Teacher, you have spoken well!"...
Matthew 22:32
I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?' He is not the God of the dead, but of the living."
Mark 12:27
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!"
Romans 14:8
If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
This is so much longer than planned :sigh: But it is to help others with the same questions that perplexed me for such a long time and hard to explain very well
but we must try to express this hope that lives in us , in the Love of God by faith in Him that has overcome the world already and made known to those whom believe Him ...
Rosered that was beautifully written.
I nodded all thoughout...
I love that passage:
Gal 5
...14The entire law is fulfilled in a single decree: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Very interesting Inspirationmoment101..I didn't see or think there's anything unbiblical in your experience. And feeding the "principalities" of evil by evil deeds and sins seems to make sense. It does seem to me the force or control of evil is becoming greater, in the world, though of course there's been great evils every age and generation. :sigh:
I understand what you mean about a block of information.. sometimes when trying to write something, during prayer or reading time, it's like a paragraph or pile of words atop my head and they need to be put in order. But I also had a time once after my son, about 20 years ago asked me why was the tree of knowing God and evil in the garden? (A good question!) And isn't it great, he said, we get to be an ant farm. I answered his questions but I wasn't very happy with my answers so I prayed for better answers which seemed to come right away.. like "bam!" Lol. That's how I think of it. Like two or three bams!
First one was an image to my mind of how - or so it seems to me - how God before any act of creation could see all possibilities stretching out in front of His sight like a 360 degree floating blanket or garment floating out all ways to infinitity..
Next bam was the thought that God is life itself. And He also "is perfect" and how by endowing thinking ability to angel and man, a whole new world (er tree) of possibilities came about.
But alas! He knew (of course) that with thinking and reasoning ability, sooner or later, comes the ability to make choices -- but noT the one for Him, but that is decided by Him and His timing. The bam! was that He knew of course, that sooner or later, someone, somewhere, will think.. do we really have to do all things God's way? And how to differ with Him in any tiny way - in thought, word or deed, is to be the opposite of life. Because it is imperfection, the opposite of God/life/perfection.
So the rescue was built in from the foundation/beginning of the world.. 3rd bam was seeing a great patience of the heavenly Father.. it seemed to be a vast space of time, between the creating of the angels, and that first bound to occur rebel thought to occur, as it did in Lucifer a high angel.. And waited for that rebel thought to mature into outright revolt and sedition, before God created the universe and man and woman.
Then was the idea how God had done - and engineered - all things just as He has, in order to bring about the best of all possibilities.. as perfect, implies "best". And Perfect makes no mistakes. And can lose nothing!
And along with this was the idea that since God is life itself, He lives through, suffers and experiences ALL sufferings which ever occur.. And why would He put Himself through all that!?
Perhaps because He's not creating an ant farm (the short story :laughing7: ) but His own family of many beautiful branches, and an un-breakable paradise (for all not just a few).. For surely upon great 'day" of review/Judgment the full understanding of good from evil (life from death!) That to wander from Him can only ever result in a self destructive puff of smoke.. go not there. Written/deeply engraved upon every heart..
I mixed things up a little.. the whole thing actually concluded with a question to me.. which above i mentioned in the middle.. The question was " why did God wait so very long and only create the universe and man and woman, not only after the 1st rebel thought occurred but after it had fully ripened? ...(so all in heaven and Earth would take this unavoidable journey - lesson, all together at once. Unavoidable, that is, if we are to have thinking ability.)
The biggest bam was how He can only be perfect.. or He too would fade. And that means that the 'end' result cannot be anything less than the utter best one possible. :gsmile:

I love that passage:
Gal 5
...14The entire law is fulfilled in a single decree: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Bless you bro Marc !
I have considered , what if the old man of sin nature and the new man in Christ nature are neighbours within the Body of life and death and the duality of both are made known within us all ?
Do we love the one and hate the other ?
Or do we continue to do good to everyone because we are all being made known !!
Gal 6 Carry One Another's Burdens
...8The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction;
but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
9Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest, i
f we do not give up.
10Therefore, as we have opportunity,
let us do good to everyone, and especially to the family of faith....
love your brother as yourself comes to mind ! , can the beasts/carnal natures within be tamed ? yes ! , but that tongue only the Lord can bridle it , it seems .........
James 3 Taming the Tongue
...7All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and creatures of the sea
are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 8but no man can tame the tongue.
It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
9With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men,
who have been made in God's likeness....
I believe this is where self loathing comes from and must be healed by the working of the Holy Spirit within us all
convicting what needs to be seen and known to all openly as we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us and chastening what needs to be tamed made captive to Christ ruling over it and comforting what needs to be healed in everyone of us ...
Many say salvation of Jesus Christ is not personal , but I believe that is a lie being told to keep us from coming to Christ and be healed ... :friendstu:
Amen Marie,I believe iniquity is abounding, too, satan knows his time is short.GOD WITH US!!!He is doing a perfect work

Grace must abound allthe more!

18
I ask that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints,
19and the surpassing greatness of His power to us who believe. He displayed this power in the working of His mighty strength,
... 20which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms,21far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named,
not only in this age, but also in the one to come.... I am under the impression we are still under the law of knowledge of good and evil as long as evil remains in the mortal bodies and we are entering into the rest of Christ .

I once heard a near death experiencer say what he learned was simply this: Life IS Love IS God. I totally agree with that, and what you were saying about God being life itself.
When I write I find it hard to convey my words...My spirit knows but I can't express it completely in words...I'm working on that. Jesus said his words were life... But then it takes the spirit to interpret those words...
I used to think God might be a cosmic bully...forcing us to do good...I wrote about that once, it turned out rather interesting lol. That was the devil in me protesting....But...It was for my own good...It's not easy...
I'd be happy just to be with all my family again forever...that's heaven enough for me. I've never been able to even grieve a loved one passing...I just care so much about people...It utterly kills me. I don't pray to God for greater love because it's extremely difficult...I know to some extent I believe how many of the nde returners say...when they went into great sorrow after their experience because 'they lost the light' (love) or how they return to earth knowing how much love God has for us but now they are surrounded by hate and pain and suffering.... Kills me! I just try to get by as best I can as an outsider in this place lol! Though more and more I realize im not an outsider... the spirit (love) was breathed into all mankind (adam)...deep down....we all know... Some people you have to drag it out of though...but im learning daily.
what we think of as someones passing over as loss..Father thinks of bringing His children home and as a great homecoming..there is

I just pray to God to make it through...not by the skin of my teeth or anything...but with too much revelation than i can handle or know what to do with...We can only contain so much and I'm not able to contain very much, sadly, but that's how it is (for now). Some can contain a lot. I pray for 'daily bread'...enough to live on nowadays. If God gave me too much I'd only let Him down. I know He wants to give more.

(Luke 24:36-43; John 20:19-23)
1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard,
which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have gazed upon and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life.
2And this is the life that was revealed; we have seen it and testified to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us.
3We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us.
And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ. 4We write these things so that our joy may be complete.
The heavens are rejoicing in the things we can now hear in the Spirit that was written and spoken and given already!! :dsunny:

What a blessing this thread is! I agree about love.. "The greatest is love.."! I think of it in some way as a sort of measurement. ..We can "tell something by it's fruit"..
In the Lord's letters to those early churches in Asia, the Lord said to the church of Philadelphia (of brotherly love, the Greek) He would keep them from the hour of trial that tests? Or will test? all upon Earth.. I've always noticed how it's the church of brotherly love that He says that to.

I believe Jesus Christ openly showed satan being cast out of heaven and hurled down to the earth away from the presence of GOD and no longer holds that power , but has been given to the LORD JESUS CHRIST , THE RIGHT HAND OF POWER over sin and death by being the perfect sacrifice for sins and that is HIS LIFE for all by forgiveness of sins
and error !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
forgive them Father for they know not what they are doing !!!!!!!!!!!!
evil influences destroy a lot of good but sin will never prevail in heaven again!!!!!!!!!!! for JESUS CHRIST IS RECONCILING THE WHOLE WORLD FROM THE CROSS AND FROM NOW ON , IN HIS OWN BODY [holding all things , as LORD OF the dead and living ], till GOD BE ALL IN ALL .......
