Here are thoughts that came to me regarding Luk 17:37 And answering, they are saying to Him, "Where, Lord?Yet He said to them, "Wherever the body is, there the vultures also will be assembled."
So it just my 2 cents. :Peace2:

"And the slain OF THE LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground ['And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against Me for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh [Isa. 66:24].
"Therefore, behold, the days come, says the Lord, that this place shall no more be called Tophet, nor The Valley of the son of Hinnom, but THE VALLEY OF SLAUGHTER" (Jer. 19:6).
"Therefore, behold, the days come, says the Lord, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the Valley of the son of Hinnom, but THE VALLEY OF SLAUGHTER: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there BE NO MORE PLACE. And the carcasses of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven,  and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall frighten them away" (Jer. 7:33).
"...and they shall be an abhorring to all flesh" (Isa. 66:24).
"...and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the Great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men both free and bond, both small and great" (Rev. 19:17-18).

..are you saying "the body" is the (collective) body of the not yet redeemed or regenerated humanity?

this made me think of believers which outwardly say they are of the body of Jesus.. But which fruit says differently.. Some perhaps truly believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus, and they are saved, but are worldly and see not the Word properly or truthfully.. which says Jesus of "I never knew you.."..?

But Rev 20:4b.. the beheadings for the witness of Jesus, some of these may end up standing up for..?

Rev 16:14-16 - "gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.. Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments.. And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon."

..the separation of the goat body from the sheep body? "One taken, another left".

Seems to be two theories?

-- Either, some portion of the (professing!) body of Christ, is of a dead body/carcasse, and thus are of the goat body of humanity..? And taken to the gathering to Armageddon, or to the the Rev 20:4b persecution/trouble/tribulation.. Mt 24:29(the verse following the dead body verse)

-- Or, the body of Christ taken, gathered to Jesus at His return.. which is Mt 24:(29-)31
     :Peace2: God bless!

I am not "saying" anything, the post was my thoughts. There are the chosen and elect, the body, and then those that are not, yet a body......which is what I think you said here below... :2c:

Payback for all the birds and animals that were killed as a sacrifice for Adam's sin.

M't:13:41:
The Son of man shall send forth his angels,
and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend,
and them which do iniquity;

Re:19:17:
And I saw an angel standing in the sun;
and he cried with a loud voice,
saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven,
Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

M't:24:28:
For wheresoever the carcase is,
there will the eagles be gathered together.
