As usual, Fine Linen is ahead of the curve - so much so that he throws us curves...
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

You've joined at an exciting time - when the Father is turning up the heat.

This thread is a good example, with its general mocking tone - quite the stench.

If the humour was used with those who believe differently it would serve a purpose. It would be there to exaggerate an inappropriate belief / reference frame - blow it to shreds, and make a point. Here, it's used as a private joke, amongst friends.

I have a few people who like what I say - I can count them on one hand.

:cloud9: Problem is, the "I am" thing was nothing but an English construct reply in the NT that got used to correlate with something that was never intended, because a better translation according to Jewish sources would that what He said was, "I am what I will be", pointing more to His nature of being unbox-able to man's ideas, rather than a personal name He never used for Himself. IMO, likely with a view to what the more carnally minded Jews were going to do regarding basically making such an idol out of the name, that they forgot it's sound because they forgot what vowels to insert when they forbade pronouncing it. This was used to support the idea of Him being God, which He clearly said He was not, but rather His Son. But the RCC had an agenda to push, so......my  :2c:.....Blessings.....
