It seems to me if we could start at a point of agreement.
Is there a definition of personhood that you agree with Molly
If you have already.
Please give me post again or give me post #.

Molly

A person is an individual with boundaries, a mind, a will, and a personality.

How's that for starters?

I am a person and I would never confuse myself with you, also a person.

Molly. with all due respect, you, Micah, me, etc. none of us are arbiters of truth nor do we claim to be. (Well a couple of crazies we've had on the forum did claim that)
Everyone has there opinions and indeed, that is all they are, yours, mine and Micahs included.
Most of the christian world believes in everlasting, burning, Hell. That doesn't mean they are right on the trinity. Truth is not determined by majority opinion.
Being a christian for 40 years myself and a trinitarian for most of it, I never used the term "Blessed trinity" except when singing hymns that contained the words. You sure won't find "blessed trinity" in ANY bible translation so why you say people automatically put "blessed" when using the term trinity is curious to me.

AND...IMO - Love did not precede Life Since God is Love and God is Life and nothing preceded God. :Peace2:
Maybe you don't know the history of 'blessed trinity' on this thread.  I was accused of buying the church line on the trinity [as if that was a bad thing] and I said all I knew about the church trinity doctrine was from a song I learned as a child, and I sang a bit of it which included the words, 'blessed trinity.'   So now Micah spits the words 'blessed trinity' at me every time he mentions the trinity.  He means to demean me by saying it.

But, I think God puts the word blessed in his mouth, whenever he says trinity.  And, instead of feeling demeaned, I smile.  That's my opinion, and I'm entitled to it.

Maybe I should make myself clearer about my last post, though.  Love preceded creation in our religion and no other.  Because there was love and relationship in the Godhead before the creation of anything. That is what I meant, and a better way of saying it.    :Peace2:

Now here, supposedly I am to take offence, "So now Micah spits the words 'blessed trinity' at me every time he mentions the trinity. He means to demean me by saying it." (Molly)
I do not take offence :dsunny:

No, that is not true. I merely use/type the words that you yourself qualify and stand behind(or next to) when you commit yourself to use those non-biblical words.

"But, I think God puts the word blessed in his mouth, whenever he says trinity.  And, instead of feeling demeaned, I smile.  That's my opinion, and I'm entitled to it." (Molly)

No opinion here, but after looking up the word "blessed," I find that by using blessed with the word trinity, I am discrediting myself. Blessed has to do with "adorable, to speak well of, praise, fortunate, happy; kneel as an act of adoration(OT)." So by my supplying the word blessed, even though I am just quoting the typing of your responses, I am giving honor to a non-biblical word. I shall not again.
Thank you. :dsunny:

The 'blessed trinity' of the happy God.

Oh, yes, that is what it is indeed.

"blessed"

μακάριος
makarios

A prolonged form of the poetical μάκαρ makar (meaning the same); supremely blest; by extension fortunate, well off: - blessed, happy (X -ier).

Take pause my friend, my whole point is the word has no place being married to a non Bible word.
That was the whole point.

Molly

My name is a non Bible word but I am ..

the blessed molly. That was my whole point.

Your point is well taken, I don't know how to spell tushay, but tushay. But, there it is, but aren't you taking it out of the context to what we are speaking about? Maybe not, I too am most richly blessed. :HeartThrob:

Touche' French :Peace2:

Of course. we don't use the word "Molly" in our description of God or Jesus or Holy Spirit. So is irrelevant to a trinity discussion.

Exactly, Molly is a non-biblical name, with no bearing on what the scriptures say about the godhead- just like Trinity, LOLOL (Jus funnin, stay blessed :o)

You through print have outraged my funny bone! :LH: really  :LH: :gimmefive:

Molly

Actually I think you boys are wrong because I believe molly has a lot to do with the trinity.

I believe I enter the trinity, and become part of it,  through the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

In fact, to me, that's the whole point.

I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom."

Molly should we be discussing any other subject, one that is found in the Bible , I would be applauding you in you adamant stance. But since we have been discussing a word, "trinity" that has no evidence of being found in the Bible, I say alas. And should you be or are entering the "trinity" I only hope it is not an abduction of some kind. :Peace2:

YHWH

Isaiah 45:23-24: "I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance. They will say of Me, 'Only in the Lord are righteousness and strength.' Men will come to Him, And" all who were angry at Him shall be put to shame

JESUS

Philippians 2:9-11: "Therefore also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

GOD

For it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall give praise to God."
[Rom 14:11]

Molly

10 So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. 11 For the Scriptures say,

"'As surely as I live,' says the Lord,
'every knee will bend to me,
and every tongue will confess and give praise to God.'"

12 Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God. 13 So let's stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.

QuoteNum 23:19  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

This is a great verse Micah posted earlier page 31 I believe. If God is not a man and men are people than how can God be one of 3 persons in 1? If the bible does not make mention of the HS being a person than why are we discussing it? It appears what we are discussing is someones interpretation of scripture and I don't care about private interpretations. Like Micah has stated a number of times its erroneous if you can't find it clearly in the written Word. Is there really anyone here who believes in things not clearly stated? Would God leave out something as important as this in His Word?
Shema O Israel, Yahweh our Elohim is Yahweh echad!!!

I don't believe this....
Isaiah 45:23-24: this is (I will use your YHWH) and since no one has heard the voice of the Father so Jesus is speaking for the Father who originated Isa. 45:23-24, so it's the same message. And Rom 14:11, just who do you Molly suggest is the God Paul speaks of if not the same Lord God of Isa.45 as well as the Lord God's speaking through the person Jesus, who from all my  reading is the LORD.
You are chasing your tail, in just a manner of speaking, for you no evidence in the Bible of such a thing as a trinity
Tell you what if you quit this thread I will with gladness. :HeartThrob: :dsunny:

Anything else extremely pertinent, not yet said, and directly related to the Trinity discussion?

Going, going...
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

David tells us the Holy Spirit is a Person:

7   Where can I go from Your Spirit?

Or where can I flee from Your presence?

   8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there;

If I make my bed in 1Sheol, behold, You are there.

9 If I take the wings of the dawn,

If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,

10 Even there Your hand will alead me,

And Your right hand will lay hold of me.

--Psalm 139

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.  [2 Cor 3:17]

I think the issue has been fully discussed. There was never any intention, on my part at least, to convince anyone of anything- I just enjoyed seeing the alternate views expressed, including Molly's view on the Trinity, tho obviously I disagree with that view.

I never expected to see agreement arise out of the discussion- but I do believe some enlightenment may have squeezed through our zeal ;o)

As far as I am concerned the thread should be sealed, for a time..... and maybe even stickied for future reference.

In my opinion there is no further edification to be had from reiterating(or regurgitating :o.) previously expressed viewpoints

:iagree: and hopefully feelings, which we all need to overcome, were not damaged, I was certainly not hurt in anyway and i hope no one else was. Good thinking EW this thread has run it's course. God Bless my friend. :HeartThrob:

Yes, by all means please make like an Amalekite and run that thing through!  Lol

Hey Colleen, you got any new thoughts? And why did you use an Amalekite as the doer of your deed?
Just wondering :dontknow:

Such disrespect is unbelievable to me.

Where is your humor? I meant no disrespect, if you are refering to my Achmad statement. I will remove it.
