I've come to the tentmaker site for years and rececived great comfort for all my fears. I come from a grace dispensationalist back ground and I never liked or could believe how The Father could eternally punish and burn someone for their sins. Actually that kind of God made me very afraid of him and I never felt comfort in life. I now believe everyone will be eventually saved. I thank The Father for this scholarly site.
Welcome to Tentmaker!!
I know what you mean about the fear that can come from a belief that God would ever eternally harm a single one of His offspring. But whether we'd find such a thing fearful or not, the most important thing is that the Scriptures do not teach it. It could be
fearful and true, though a so-called "ugly truth." But thankfully, the Bible does not teach such eternal horrors to be the destiny of anyone, because the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Jesus Christ, has prevailed and is worthy to loose the seals of our lives so that we're no longer bound to all that would require the charging of God like a raging bull. The Glorious Gospel is that God is the raging bull that will destroy every piece of expensive China in our collection, if it in any way tries to separate us from His love, in Christ Jesus our Lord. But along with raging bull, He's our loving, nurturing cow that gives us Milk so that we can grow up into salvation. Jesus Christ in His first coming couldn't gather His chicks together as a hen would gather them, but in each of His subsequent comings into our lives, He's the motherly hen that pecks us all into line and [lovingly] makes us follow Him where ever He goes. He'll lead all of us to green pastures and still waters -- all of us, eventually
