Not Really A Newbie but
« on: July 14, 2011, 08:42:13 PM »
Have not been around for a couple of years... I'm from Plano Texas ... I used to post a lot on biblemaster.com about Universal Reconciliation and of course I was ridiculed beyond belief. Any way, my name is Jim and it's good to be back.

Is willieH still here?

Hi Justaguest,

Welcome back!
WillieH has changed his hunting grounds to another forum.
http://www.christian-messageboard.com/forums/index.php?
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Awe . . .thanks.

I signed up on the board over there . . . have no clue what the main belief there is, been posting a few things, testing the waters so to speak.  I've seen where Willie was, but he hasn't posted to anything I've done yet.

I signed up there as well and saw some of your posts.. I enjoyed reading them... At one point you talked about trials and fire. It's funny but Ii see the Lake of Fire as NOT being eternal punishment rather a means of purification... Water cleanses and fire pufiies.. Indeed, the greek word for fire is Pur which is where we get out words pure, purify, purity etc...

I'm sure most people on this board already know that but just in case...

Have a good weekend everyone.

The fact you picked up on that speaks volumes of your enablement to see kingdom truths.  I was trying to be subtle.

In Ester's day they instituted the Festival of 'PURIM"....an evil plot had gone forth to kill all the jews....they cast lots[pur] and instead of destroying all the jews..

the jews were granted to destroy all  their enemies. There is a letter that went out to all the Kingdom that on a certain day[Adar] this would happen

Only to the religious, to the rest, he's a breath of fresh air.

1corinthians1

7So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

8Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

10Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

11For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

12Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

13Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

 14I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;

15Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

So . . .TT . . .
I always struggle a bit with those who merely quote a Scripture and don't add their comments as to what that particular passage is to be suggesting.  With the original poster not leaving comments, it forces the readers to assume things that may or may not be the intention of the original sender.  So, having said that . . I"m ASSUMING you're implying that Willie is one that creates division???

Now, having read many of his posts, I won't argue that there may be times when those to whom he's writing to get emotionally charged due to his style of writing, but my take on this passage you quoted, it's not about what a person says that causes division that needs to be addressed, but the person's intent to create division is where the conflict lies.  From what I've known of Willie, his heart is not one that sets out to create divsion, yet there are times when what he says creates the conflicts and he offers no apologies, he writes what he sees.  So I'm not fully in agreement with "that" if "that" is what you're implying.

If what we see is going to create conflict, who's to judge whether or not it should still be shared?  Did not Jesus himself say that even though he was the Prince of Peace, the message he brought would bring great division?  Sons from Fathers, daughters from Mothers???  It's much like our weather . . .when a high pressure collides with a low pressure, storms erupt, a lot of lightning (revelating) and thunder soon follows because the light broke the barrier of sound . . .but yet, if there were no atmospheric collisions, there'd be no rain for the land.  I've never seen Willie as one that purposefully stirs up strife just for the sake of creating an argument.  But his message has been one of life, not death.  It's "my" personal responsibility to over-look the personality behind the message and focus on the sound coming from within rather than the tone coming from without.

Of course, that's my "goal" . . .as to whether I acheive that goal with any consistancy is a whole other matter.

Let's please change the topic away from any particular member who doesn't post here anymore.  There are probably things being said that have unknown factors to at least some of those discussing them.  It's a very good example of the encouragement to post "IMO", or "as I understand", because often there is "unknown".

Feel free to PM me.  Thanks.

I don't mind admitting when I've made an error.  I want to apologize to TT and others on the subject at hand.  Jabcat has brought some things to light that I was previously ignorant to.  I meant no offense, and I do apologize for my original remarks about him being dangerous only to the religious, I didn't really care for how that came out after I posted it as it was, but in my ignorance  I was _______________  (fill in the blank).

I do like Willie's posts, but I also respect the authorities here on this board as well as the rest who may have experienced some questionable situations in past conversations with him.  I have not personally had any issues with him and that was what I was drawing my conclusions from.  I apologize to you all.  This will be the last that I speak on this subject.  Please forgive my ignorance.

Blessings.

Blessings to you too.  We're all "in progress", eh?    As Frank Sinatra sang, "mistakes, I've made a million of 'em"...    :laughing7:

A mixed metaphor?

Are you confusing Sinatra with Rodney Dangerfield?

That's why I included the laughing head.

I did actually enjoy the Dangerfield reference [tugs at collar].
