Moderation Issues

Dear members

Personal Messages by Moderators

If a member is in infraction on rules or courtesy, a PM is sent to the offending poster.  You are obliged to either respond to the requests or post a thread as described earlier.  Any ignoring of PM requests or cautions will lead to a possible public warning and/or suspension of your account.  If you do not know how to edit a post, ask the moderator.

Moderation Issues

If a moderation has taken place that you believe is wrong, use the Speak to Moderators board by posting a request to speak to moderators as described above.

You may not challenge moderation decisions in a public thread.  If you do this, a warning will be issued either by PM or publicly and your post will be deleted.  Any further such activity will initiate a ban.

We do not want to be forced into over-moderation but will enforce the rules as stipulated here.  Moderation is not done by gut-feel and we all abide by rules agreed to by the moderators.  Moderators are also not above the rules for members but in the same breath, they are not prohibited to state their opinions in discussions either.  Like a church, Moderators can be seen to be elders but they are not elders, neither are they chosen based on age or time on this forum.

Moderators do this task voluntarily and receive no remuneration for their efforts.  They are selected from ordinary members and either accept the task freely or not.  Moderators deserve the same courtesy as all the other members of this forum.  Being a moderator does not afford that person to force their viewpoints on others but if persistently challenged in public, will lead to locking of threads or deletion of offending posts.

We do this in your best interests.  An unmoderated board may eventually have >1000 members but only those who thrive on food-fights will be active.  That will not happen here.

ALL MEMBERS have the right to their opinions and ALL MEMBERS are entitled to challenge/object to an opinion but needs to be within the confines of the rules set out. The majority are adhering to the guidelines and rules, if you are not, learn to change/improve your communication skills.

Apologies/Retractions

When requested to make an apology/retraction by a moderator, you are obliged to comply.  Likewise if a moderator makes a mistake, he/she is obliged to do likewise.

Blessings
