The LORD left the garden with Adam, a man after his own heart, and the image of the one to come.
Outside of the garden, the LORD taught Adam's children. The LORD appointed a new son to replace the righteous Abel when he was killed by his brother.
The definition of perfection is union and partnership with Jesus. He is perfect for both of us. This is why his yoke is easy and his burden is light. This is what makes us whole.
Genesis 17:1
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
