For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink . . . - - - PART 2

but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Romans 14:17)

In some of my readings of the various authors, I've discerned a "head" knowledge more than a "heart" knowledge of scriptures when it comes to the principles of son-ship, and of the Kingdom.  Currently, I'm reading through Preston Eby's 48 part series "LOOKING FOR HIS APPEARING" for the second time.  I read it earlier in the year, but my thoughts recently were directed to read through it again.  In this reading, I've been overwhelmed with the deep principles as if reading it for the first time!  Repeatedly, I said to myself while reading this time, "I don't remember this this is great stuff!"  Furthermore, we won't remember or receive this information until it is God's time for us to receive it.  If you have never read it, I highly recommend that you prayerfully do so.

In Bother Eby's "Looking for His Appearing,"  it is brought out that our love for Christ must be as one who is the bride expectantly looking for the bridegroom.  In doing so, we must lose our self-identity, and take up our identity in Christ, similarly, as we see in traditional society when the bride yields her maiden name, and assumes the husband's last name.  Yet there is a deeper relationship with God.  Brother Eby so aptly included Lyn Gitchel's worthy comments explaining how our intimate relationship with the Lord truly must be.  What she wrote rings true for me, and we all too often get wrapped up in the principles, and then "can't see the forest for the trees."

Please note the deep truth brought out here by Lyn Gitchel:

"Today, most of God's people, that are aware at all of what He is doing, are readily admitting that we are on the verge of a new day, a new dimension in the Lord. Everywhere you can hear the trumpet call of the message that His kingdom is near. Dry and parched bones are awakening at the sound of His voice and are arising to be prepared as a mighty army to meet the enemy and to take the kingdom. The word "kingdom" is heard more than ever before... and expectancy... is arising in the hearts of those who are waiting for Him.

All this is good, but I have become aware of one thing. In all the striving for perfection, teaching of the kingdom, and preaching of the gospel of redemption that will be completed this side of eternity, we are strangely far from the real goal of it all. Some are striving for a greater understanding of the scriptures and the things of God, and some for a bigger and better revelation than ever before. Some are striving to become like Him, formed into His image; some are looking to become His dwelling place on this earth. Some are seeking to become mature 'sons,' and others are looking towards becoming the 'order of Melchizedek.'

All these are fine goals, but they are not THE GOAL that God intends for us. The goal, and the only goal, is set out in the first commandment which bids us seek God first with every part of our being. To move into Him; to establish a ONENESS WITH HIM - this is the only central goal of it all.  So often we are seeking something so close to the real thing - and yet not the real central goal. We seek God in order to receive something from Him - or to be made holy, or be like Him in some other way. We seek Him to have Him dwell in us, or to have His power, or joy, or peace. None of these are wrong! They are just not the goal!

"What kind of response do you think you would get if you were moving into a love relationship, with the intention of marrying that person, and then, when they asked you why you wanted to enter into that depth of relationship with them you replied, 'So that I can become like you!' or, 'So that I can have your power!' Too often that is the way we look at God. We have sought to come close to Him so that we might become like Him, or so that His power might be seen in us. Both are admirable desires, but they are not desires that will be fulfilling to the heart of God. He wants us to draw close to Him, not that we might become like Him, or that His nature be found in us (though, inevitably, that will happen), but solely to draw close to Him BECAUSE WE LOVE HIM FOR WHAT HE IS. He wants us to, come to Him WITH NO OTHER INTENTION in our hearts but to fellowship with Him, to love Him, and to appreciate Him, sharing with Him all the love-flow of our hearts. Everything else, no matter how fine a goal, must be second to that!"  (end quote)

As I write this posting for the brothers and sisters who read here at this forum, it is now the start of a  new year, 2011.  Never, in all my life, have I seen a condition in the world as we are seeing at this moment.  It seems as if we are looking at a total global cataclysmic collapse of the money systems, governmental systems, and the religious systems.

In 2008, we saw the collapse of the mortgage system which affected many of the "too big to fail" banking criminals, to whom, were rewarded for their crimes with multi-million dollar bonuses provided by taxpayer dollars.  Also, we are seeing the 30 year conclusion of continuing millions of job losses in the USA of which is looking like they will never be recovered.  It is sucking the treasuries of the cities, states, and federal governments empty.  But these are only a foretaste of what's coming!  One cannot but think of the verses in James chapter 5 where he wrote:  "Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you .  .  .  Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth  .  .  .  Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you  .  .  .  Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain  .  .  .  Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh."

Now, at the threshold of 2011, we see the reality of the US cities, and state governments that have grossly over-extended themselves, now heading for bankruptcy.  Also, in Europe, a couple of countries have had to be bailed out, and several more are expected in the first half of 2011 these are known as the PIIGS, an acronym for Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Spain.

Throughout my lifetime, we were worried about the cold war, nuclear arms, world wars, bomb shelters, and now we see governments, businesses, and personal finances imploding nationally and internationally through debt owed to the money controllers.

What we are seeing in the world of this magnitude, has no precedent.  We who are the Lord's sense down deep in our being that we are about to witness the changing of the ages, and by His grace, we will be participants in it!   Nevertheless, we must be prepared, and not to be like the "five foolish virgins."
All of my life, I have been reminded, if not "haunted" in some way, by the following verses.  For me, they are irrevocable, and  I must continually, and fervently apply them to my life.  How can I heed them any less?

And Jesus said unto him, No man having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.  (Luke 9:62)

For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. (Luke 12:48)
Jesus saith .  .  .  lovest thou me more than these? (John 21:15)

Finally, I, again, direct your attention to brother Eby's words from his publication "Looking for His Appearing".  May we comprehend the importance of what he writes, and may we yield our rights to ourselves by yielding to God's preparing ourselves for that "day star":  "Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning" (Hosea 6:3)

Brother Eby writes:
"We are undoubtedly standing at the threshold of a new dimension in God, a higher realm in the Spirit, and a new level of experience. There is an awakening among the elect of the Lord that transcends human knowledge. He is putting into the hearts of His chosen people the desire to ready themselves for the sonship prepared for them from the foundation of the world.

When we come to a time like this, many will refuse to go on.  There is some strange thing inherent in all men that makes them reluctant to leave the security of their fixed abode to press forward into the challenge of the new.  They feel that they have journeyed far enough and that the effort to press into the new and more wonderful realm is too great a risk. We tend to become rigid, settled, self confident and crystallized, - fixed in our gaze and in our pose. In order for us not to miss the next phase of the unfolding revelation of Jesus Christ, God has to sound a shrill trumpet into our hearts that we might be alerted. God is wanting to say and do a NEW THING.

It is time to go forward. It is the hour to arise to the battle and possess our land, our full inheritance in God. It is time to leave the first principles of the doctrine of Christ and GO ON TO PERFECTION. It is time to put on the mind of Christ and be transformed by the renewing of our mind. It is time to live and not die. So the Lord descends from heaven in a battle alarm, in the electrifying sound of a trumpet-message, to stimulate, to arouse, to alert and challenge you to get ready for the battle of the ages and the victory of victories that follows!

This trumpet sound commands us to pull up the tent stakes of tradition; fold up the tents of man-made religion; take down the banners of static creeds and dogmas and past experiences in God, and stop camping around this mountain of "kingdom-building" and a partial experience of God. We have camped around this mountain long enough. Let us go on to know the Lord in all of His glorious and eternal reality! Only men who have ears to hear can hear this call of the Spirit, but the trumpet is blowing and many have heard the call.

There are times in your life when God wants you to move forward in Him. He says you have camped around this mountain long enough. He has a land of promise ahead for you with all its inexhaustible abundance! Let us not settle for a partial revelation of God as through a glass darkly, but let us see Him face to face, to know Him even as we are known of Him." (End quote)

Oh, praise his name!
May all those who are called to "press on to the high calling of God in Christ" be obedient!
May you be blessed!!

What a terrific testimony.  I read both posts and was floored.  I wouldn't have been able to receive them just last week.  But, the quickening in my spirit is unmistakable and I know I will be forever changed.  You have confirmed what God has placed in my spirit through your testimony and I was greatly blessed.

I agree!!!  We have truly come into the dawning of the Sabbath, the rules of engagement have changed just as drastically as the laws and instructions given for the 6 days greatly differ from the instructions of "what to do" when the Sabbath arrives.   May we all be witness to the merging together of flesh and spirit, of land and sea, of God and man, may it begin in the hearts of those connected to this forum, not because of UR common threads, but because of the open hearts that are willing to receive the revelation of the Father as he illuminates the nature of his Son to, in, and through our lives.

Welcome aboard bro!!  Great to have you join us!!

I like ,(what I beleive card mentioned or maybe it was nathan) that 6 days they collected the manna and that was enough to carry them over to the seventh day(rest) and everything else spoiled.I see this as what is happening now.It is sad to see those that were teachers in my life ,grasping at straws and holding on to that which is spoiled.
Now is the time to hear the spirit lead us into a new land....which you know, because it has tonnes of life on it!

albeit I've said very similar things, but I think it was Card that brought that truth out on this one ...and I very much like how you worded this ... it's definitely a new land . .. same land . . .just made new . .. not so much as "never been seen" as much as it's "fresh".
