Okay, so in Romans 11:32 it says:
For God has consigned (penned up) all men to disobedience, only that He may have mercy on them all [alike].
Do you think that mankind has been penned up in their physical bodies? Not so much that we're "trapped" in our bodies. But do you think that God purposely created man as human beings knowing that this would lead to our disobedience? Because, and I don't know about you, but it seems like so many of my mistakes are brought about because of body. Such as sexual lusts ("hormones raging"), and getting angry when I haven't eaten enough food, and getting depressed/angry because of my OCD.
(I'm not saying anger in itself is a sin, simply that anger often leads to sin.) Sometimes it seems more like my body is what is causing me to sin, as opposed to my thoughts. Because, I know that my thoughts are generally on the good side of things, but my body seems like it likes to mess with me. So, when Paul talks about the war between the flesh and the Spirit, sometimes it really feels like it's my physical flesh!
What do you guys think of this idea?
