Are there any thoughts on what this verse? What does it mean to deliver such a one unto satan/adversary?
The destruction of the flesh?

1Co 5:5  To deliver such a one as this, unto Satan, for the destruction of the flesh,—that, the spirit, may be saved in the day of the Lord.

I ask this for I believe it speaks of a soul such as myself. :Mcry: :HeartThrob:

It seems to me its a "they've gotta hit rock bottom" kind of situation there.  That was for me.  I had to become so depraved of mind, that I finally saw how evil sin was, and what its effects are on others.

I don't see why not.  I believe I've been delivered over many times.  Hopefully I won't need to again.

And for me as well.  There seemed to be a time where most evils didn't seem off limits to me.  It forced me to a bottom.  And from that bottom I became teachable.  We say the same thing to addicts....."maybe you just need to go out and drink/drug some more".  Some individuals need to be let go....they need to go to the depths of depravity before they get it...and become teachable.  People have to become painfully aware that being the god of their own life doesn't work.  They have to learn that if they are their god their life becomes unmanageable.  I don't believe this is so just for the addict.  I believe it's so for every person who rejects God.

A wasted thought on my part. Thank you Red and Shawn for your thoughts. I shall remove my self indulgence.
