Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9Z-4H39BCM&feature=related

I can listen to this ten times in a row and cry every time. All of creation groans. Oh Come Emmanuel! He said, "I have come and I am coming." Amen, come Lord!  :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob:

Lyrics especially for you goodreport. :)

Oh Come, Oh Come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel,
Shall come to thee, O Israel!

Oh, come Thou Rod of Jesse free,
Thine own from Satan's tyranny;
From depths of hell Thy people save,
And give them vict'ry over the grave.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel,
Shall come to thee, O Israel!

Oh, come, Thou Day-spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here;
Oh, drive away the shades of night,
And pierce the clouds, and bring us light,

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel,
Shall come to thee, O Israel!

Oh, come, Thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Where all thy Saint's with thee shall dwell,
Oh Come, Oh Come, Emmanuel,

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel,
Shall come to thee, O Israel!
Shall come to thee, O Israel!
From Him and through Him and to Him are all things.

Oh Lomarah... you are very, very sweet, thoughtful...and how did you know that this is one of my very favorite Christmas hymns???  actually, I call it a hymn for all seasons. It does make one think about going home... to be with the Lord... thanks for the lyrics.

This is my absolute fave gr!! I think it's the most beautiful one ever written. And yeah, I'm with you, it's a hymn for all seasons. :)
From Him and through Him and to Him are all things.

OTOH I long for Him to come

   but

OTOH Mark 13 and Luke 21 give me great pause--
  things will get worse before they get better

   BUT
Praise God, it's all in His hands

Yeah the darkness is always the greatest before the dawn. But He told me once that, like a woman going into labour, we should not focus on the fleeting and temporary (albeit intense) pain of it, but the joy of the child that is about to be born!  :cloud9: :HeartThrob:
From Him and through Him and to Him are all things.
