Agreed, thanks. I believe sometimes our mind deceives us.

In this age, we see through a glass darkly. I believe it's prayer, discernment, listening for His voice - while, searching the scriptures daily "to see if these things are so".

Jesus often said: "It is written..." but it's unlikely He walked around with scrolls in His hand during His ministry.
We are living epistles that must be weaned off the printed Book.
How can we say as Jesus did, "he that hath seen me hath seen the Father," when full of doubt to His Spoken Word.

Am I way out of line reasoning and believing the the "living epsitles" that we are the Book of Life, and that our actions are the pen and ink that writes those actions, good or bad.

Jesus Christ is the Book of Life, it is His script which we live and have our being.
He does the Will of the Father, those actions are always "good."
Although Pharaoh may disagree; it depends on one's perspective.

David, are you, or are you not saying we need to leave the scriptures behind as part of our "growth"? Do you believe everything you personally "think" as being from the Lord? Have you ever "mis-heard", thinking you heard from Him but realize later you were mistaken? I have, and I personally believe that is common to man, and is part of the reason we have so much confusion. Another reason is, many have indeed "left the written Word" and lean to their own understanding, thinking their great spirituality has led them not just beyond what is written, but even against it.

There are 100 "men of God", saying "I've heard this from God", but are in effect, saying opposite/differing things. Do you/we believe them all, every word they utter? Or do we check it against not only the Spirit's leading in our hearts, but also against what the written Word says?

Please consider my questions direct, not obtuse, subtle accusations. Also, whatever you do believe about this is between you and the Lord. Thought I would ask and seek clarification. God leads us all, to serve His purposes.

God forbid!
We are to become the Scriptures when all is fulfilled!

I try to think as little as possible and be led of the Spirit.

If the word heard does not line up with Scripture or steals His peace, it undoubtedly has another source.
The Scriptures state My sheep know My voice... and are led. That, I believe.

I dont see Jesus Christ being the Book of Life.
Rev 13:8 "....scroll of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."
Rev 21:27 "......written in the Lamb's book of life."
Please explain?
