I looks like email notifications aren't working.
Not top priority to fix but I hope it doesn't affect registrations.
I'll create a new account WWtest. Delete it.

Jabcat, Karen,

I created a test account WWtest.
Registration email did not arrive. (HappyCheeks seems to have the same problem)
Is my registration pending?

I've set my profile to recieve an email if when someone PMs me. No notification emails arrive.

So it seem email aren't send or end up in the spam bucket.

I'm just making a test post here. So, most of the smileys are available although all are in the popup window now. Don't beat me up, please.

This is going to take some time to sort out all the other issues people have been reporting. There are over 1500 pages (30 errors per page) of error logs in the forum admin. I am going to delete them and see what errors are currently showing up as you use the forum.

With all the other things that need attention, such as the store, and the odd characters showing up in Gary's blog, this is a major juggling act to get all these things done, and I'm not nearly as good a juggler as this little smiley

That's good! It means that email notifications are working, and the queue of emails that I told it to send, actually went out.

One more step toward full functionality in the forum.

I just checked the forum error log, and there is only one error that appeared during the last hour or so. And that was just someone used a wrong password.

Maybe we are on the home stretch now!

Have all the people that joined in the last few months been reinstated? I haven't seen a few, like jugghead, though he pops in and out. I know someone mentioned sending a mass email.

I mailed with HappyCheeks this morning and her account is gone.
Couldn't re-register because of the lack of an activation mail.

Imo the database should be updated ASAP because everything we posted since this week will be gone then. So best to minimize that by not waiting even longer with the database upgrade.

Still can't use PM.
Not allowed to stay logged in as before.
People not able to register automatically, and not getting activation email when activated manually (just like before server switch). So they don't know they're a member, don't participate.
All members registered over the past 4 months are no longer members, and they haven't been able to re-register.
If a newer version is installed, we need to save these posts made the last several days somehow.

I think the Captha and other challange codes are to easy. I see many new registrations. Weird names like viagra. Odd because the questions seem nearly impossible to answer for a bot. Hope the challange codes aren't bypassed in some way.

Been reading a bit about how bots crack captha codes.
They don't....

They use new techniques.
- People in third world countries are payed to regisiter all day long.
- Entertainment sites on which people 'solve' as much difficult chaptas as possible. Results are used later by the bots.

I have afew simple idea's to reduce the annoyance but that doesn't have real priority now.

Well, I've tried to figure it out and haven't been able to do so; does anyone know how to set the time on the boards so the posts are showing up at the correct times? I've looked in the administration section, and from what I can see, that looks set where it should be - Chicago, USA (CST), with '0' time delay.

One member has told me they were able to reset their own, but embarrassingly so, I looked at my own profile settings and see no place to do that. Insight into this anyone?

OK, they probably meant the "Time Delay" setting under each member's profile "Look and Layout". So for some reason, the forum may be offsetting your posts, and apparently you can go in there and set a number of hours one way or the other to make the times gel. I'm going to try mine...I seem to be about 8 hours off..

Alright, just go into your profile, choose "Look and Layout", and then hit 'auto detect'. Mine automatically went to -8 hours.

something = use unique words.
Be creative. Some things you find within a minute while other take an hour.

When you found the post don't just click on it but look for small link labeled "Cached" or hoover over ">>" and then click "Cached".
Unfortunately I can guarantee you that not each and every post is in Google cache.

Maybe your connection is so slow it takes the page 17 minute to arrive :-)
Unfortunately timezones can only be set with whole hours. Odd considering a few zones have 30 minutes difference)

PS the time on the server is wrong. Everyone has that 17 minutes difference. (is my guess)
