But you are young at  :HeartThrob:  so that evens out :-)
Largefont theme is not needed imo.
Every browser (I know) of supports Ctrl+  and Ctrl-   to increase/decrease fontsize.
That little "trick" works on (almost) all sites.

John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Gee, WhiteWings, I was so focused on digging around in the code that I forgot about the browsers being able to set the desired font size.

Thanks,
Karen :mblush:

Behold all things have become new.  :laughing7: I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.

This font looks awfully small when I type.

Hi,

To make the text larger, just hold down the control key and push the plus key as many times as it takes to get the text to the size you like. To reduce the size, just hold control key and push the minus key.

Ok, I discovered I have IE8 on this other computer that I only use occasionally. I tried putting a long message in the textbox and the jumping scrollbar effect is still apparent. I couldn't get to the bottom of the message and continue to type, the scrollbar kept popping my cursor back up into the middle somewhere of the message.

I just clicked the "compatibiliy mode" button on the browser, though, and now I'm trying to post a long message again.

Ok, with IE8 operating in compatibility mode, there's no problem posting a message that extends below the bottom of this message posting box.

Karen

P.S. I'm disappointed, as well, that the admin area which the Moderators need to use does not work right in IE, either in this new version of the forum software.

But, at least IE gives us the ability to switch to compatibility mode and have things work ok. If an older version of IE, though, which does not have the compatibility mode option is used, there may still be problems for which I have no idea what the correction would be.

This is me talking to myself, it doesn't affect members using the forum.

The problems I'm now trying to deal with don't seem to affect the functioning of the forum for the members of the forum. However, there seem to be several errors within the code that are causing many multiples of a few different error messages to be listed in the Error Logs. Still searching for the remedy.

Now I'm adding to this post. I deleted the error logs and have been watching to see what errors appear, and, no errors are logged yet. I wonder if anyone is at the forum and posting any messages?

Now I logged out, then logged back in to add to this message. Still no errors showing in the error log.

Karen check all templates.
For example the multi color.
Just try to make some changes in your profile.
All fine in Chrome.
In IE8 I can't access the pull-down menus.
They open but if I move my mouse to them they close.
They are offset to much to the right.
I have very little time right now.
But if you just install a bunch of template I'll test em all.

Hi WhiteWings,

We're not getting a flood of error messages in the error log after I forced everyone into the default template. I don't think I'll install any more templates right now. Especially since the ones that I did put in raised the ire of someone in the board. Although, I really would like to use the snowman template for myself.

When you're using IE, I think you can get the dropdown menus to work if you click on the menu and hold the  mouse button down while you then move to the item you want in the dropdown menu.

Thanks for the feedback,
Karen

I don't have any problems with this layout.
It's just that some layout may look better.
Nothing is forced so everybody should be happy.
When picking a template set you'll basically see 2 lists.
A list sorted on type like basic, minimal, dark, etc
And all below that list a v2.x template set.
Maybe you used 1.x templates on a 2.x forum?
Would be nice but certainly not a problem if not.

Sounds good. That way I can't be banned  :laughing7:

Maybe it gets fixed in RC4 or final.

So far the one template that I know doesn't lead to thousands of error messages is the one that is currently running.

There is a neat fall theme template, but I don't know if it causes a lot of errors. I can try it and see what happens.

Ok, I activated the "Angel Fall First" template in my profile. I'll go see whether it makes error messages in the error log.

I tried to log in about 4 hours ago before I went golfing  :mblush:, and man everything was weird.  I was seeing the snowflakes for the first time, couldn't message, couldn't post.  Now this is much better, so whatever you've done has helped.

Nope....
Jesus is born on Sept 10/11 - Yom Kippur/Day of Atonement
December 25th is when the 3 men from the east visited Jesus a year later
Christmas is a ancient pagan festival of light. The days get longer starting 21st December. It marks the rebirth of the sun-god

I'm going to test that on right after this message. I'll report my findings in this thread. My they should be collected for SMF?
The default template looks fine and complete but a few weird things:
a] The menu's in the config. Holding the RMB works but is no standard behavior. (minor)
b] Quote something in Chrome. Add a little text and press the preview button. Unreadable. IE works fine

My test results for the Angel theme.

Press: Show unread   posts since last visit.
The "Mark all read" button is gone. Looks like the (paths to the) icons are missing.
http://www.tentmaker.org/forum/Themes/Angel_Fall_First/images/english/markreadall.gif
Copy button to template directory. Weird, because I would expect a button that fits the theme is included..

Just read a random message. The group icons are missing. (Moderator, 500, Gold, Silver etc)
http://www.tentmaker.org/forum/Themes/Angel_Fall_First/images/Gold.jpg
You need to copy the icons to the/each theme folder.

Max avatar size is changed? My (and Cardinal's) avatar now has scroll bars around it.

Is the user database purged. I thought there weer 900+ members but now it's down to 244 according to the stats. The weird thing is that 300 users of those 244 are using the default theme.

244 users is disappointingly few. Are there things that can be done so Google finds forum contents more easily?[/size]

Hi WhiteWings,
Actually, the angel theme is throwing a lot of errors. I don't have the time to fix the theme right now.

I know jabcat had been deleting inactive users.

Ok, back to the default theme for now.

Don't worry. The theme you see right now is the default and can't be removed.
Karen is to busy so there will be no new themes.
And I was requesting additional themes that each choose to use or not.
I thought that was clear.

I allways thought scholars had difficulty with the exact date.
