Unfortunately not even searching works.
And the restored database is 4 months old (thousands of posts). I would lile to suggest keeping a copy of your lengthy post in case a more recent database gets restored. (all todays posts will be gone then)

All people who joined the last 4 months have to reregister because they are not in this database.
Passwords changed within 4 months are lost too.

Is this the most recent backup?

There was a notification that there were problems and asking people to pray.  Unfortunately, it was about an hour or less before the whole site went completely "away", poof, MIA.  As Tony said, it was hacked - very severely.  Don't know by whom...   Gary has a fellow working on things through the weekend, hoping the bugs get cleared up.

The forum as it is right now is clearly a 4 month old backup.
I hope there is a more recent backup that works because many posts are lost this way.
If not it would be great is the most recent version, even if broken, was put online at another URL for reference.
That way people can at least recover some posts. (copy paste)

Perhaps you can do a mass mailing to in form people the forum was down for a few weeks, still under construction, and possible new posts will lost when installing the more recent database.

Dan apparently put up the most recent backup available to him.  He indicates Karen could possibly have a more recent backup and he'd be willing to put that up if he had it.  Just got an email of Gary's asking me what's not working right.

Dan's backup is the one just before migrating to another server I think.

Yes, sorry, left that out.  He said it was a copy before switching servers.  I've let Gary know about that and about some things not working, and will add your "not working" stuff to the list.  I personally think they just need to put up a more recent copy.  We'll see.  Thanks.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think if Dan fixes things completly and aoverwrites it with a recent backup he has to refix things.
