You have to understand/have/experience the gifts of the Spirit as shown in Acts and Corinthians, before you can discern what is and is not, of His Spirit. Throwing out the baby with the bath water is never a good idea. For every counterfeit there exists a reality in God, indeed has to be, for a counterfeit is a poor copy of an original. funny that these "gifts" were never mentioned or practiced by the Man himself...only by some guy starting a religion in the Man's name who's never even met the Man personally...

When He told them if they tore down the temple, He would raise it up again in 3 days, that was prophesying.

When He turned the water into wine, that was a gift of miracles. And on and on and on. HE IS the Spirit that performs all these things that came on the day of Pentecost as gifts/works of the SPIRIT, and greater works than these He said we would do (it's coming). Blessings....

are you equating prophesy, miracles and healing (which I certainly do not deny as being gifts of the Spirit) with flailing arms and levitating and uttering gibberish?

  I did read the first post. I don't know exactly what you mean by "flailing arms or levitating", but I assume the "gibberish" you're referring to is about speaking in tongues, so yes, I do equate that with healings, miracles, and prophecy, since that baptism is what makes them possible, as the crucial and inclusive part of the New Covenant.

As for the tongues, it is a reversal of the curse at Babel, and Jesus, who it was said, shed forth that which was seen and heard on the day of Pentecost, came, comes, and is coming, to reverse all the curses, including that one. God has a pattern, and none can violate it without cost. Blessings....

  Joel chapter 2, Acts chapter 2, and of course Corinthians about the gifts of the Spirit that come from it.

Out of our bellies (innermost being) shall flow living waters, and this lines up with the pattern in that there was a river running under the temple which the priests used to wash the sacrifice blood away. It is this river in us that washes away the things of the blood of Adam, and sets us free.

The tabernacle in Hebrews 10 it is said is the pattern of heavenly things, so it follows if you want to comprehend heavenly realities, you must study the tabernacle. As such, there is saved (outer court) and there is sanctified (inner court). The baptism in the HG begins our sanctification process.

It is as water cleanses (outer court), but fire (inner court) sterilizes, in the natural application. And this is why they received the baptism of the HG on the day of Pentecost as tongues of fire upon their heads. The soul is the candle of the Lord, and on the day of Pentecost, He "lit" His candles. Blessings....
