Hello all,
i don't post much but sometimes i feel the urge to put a few thoughts into words and this is one of those times, i read this thread a few days ago and could not get the question out of my mind and it took time to formulate the thoughts floating around in my itty bitty mind into words on the screen, so here they are for they are worth.
After being enlightened to the truth of God reconciling ALL His creation, I now know what repulsed me of the theology of hell.
And that is: An all knowing, all loving, all powerful creator has NO WAY to get the results He wants, the only thing He can do is accept the small percentage that will do His will, and throw the rest in a trash dump and torture it forever.
I now believe in a Loving, Powerful creator that has a plan to get the end result that He desires. His plan is working the way He has purposed.
God in His words through scripture tells us:
Isa 52:10 -
The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
Isa 26:9 -
With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
When is this going to happen?
Revelation 20:11-15
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Re 20:14
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
When we are thrown into the lake of fire we will learn
Notice this is the second death
Notice that after Jesus has destroyed the last enemy He turns the reigns back to The Father
1Co 15:26
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
Some translations say that death is abolished, that means it is absolutely NO MORE
If the lake of fire is hell that means it is no more.
I believe that the lake of fire is where we all (all humanity) learns, and after we all learn then there is no more need for the lake of fire (hell)
I may be all wet on my thinking, any enlightenment welcomed
