Religions don't "choose" you either. You must choose to follow them. But only God calls and chooses us first. Only God has already provided you with access to enter into him . . .through Christ. The religions of men require acceptance through works. You gotta "do" in order to "become" a member. In Christ, you already "have" been redeemed without even "doing" anything. The "doing" comes AFTER realizing what was already DONE for you.
The attraction of these religions is dealing with moral value and carnal wisdom. Christ is Spirit . .and where the Spirit of the Lord is . .there is LIBERTY. Try maintaining your own routine in these other religions. It won't be long before you get to the point where every one of them at one point and time will tell you . .either "conform" to "this" rule or belief . . . or you can't become one of us.
Christ has already done the required work necessary for us to enter into the kingdom of truth. Our acknowledgement of this work (asking Christ in your heart is that acknowledgment) gives Christ access to our heart and our will so that His work can manifest in us . .changing our will, our desires to become his will and desire so that we'll "do" his good pleasure. Not because a rule says we must, but because his spirit is in us, causing us to "want" to become engaged.
Bottom line though, you don't choose Christ . . .he chooses you.
