Molly, check your pm's.  :HeartThrob:
"I knelt to drink,
And knew that I was on the brink
Of endless joy. And everywhere
I turned I saw a wonder there."

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

This is not a refutation of what circus the media has made of MJ, but I think most people misunderstand what the implication is concerning the word conspiracy.

The media is out for money, and ratings is often the means by which money is gained.  Without an audience neither ratings or money can be gained by the media.

The Media already knows it's audience responds to shock and negativity.  It responds to class envy and it enjoys seeing the famous crumble before thier eyes.

This does not necessarily exhonerate the media, but the blame falls greatly on the audience,  if the audience refuses to tolerate something to the point that the media cannot gain, then the media will gain upon what the audience tolerates.

Two of his doctors have  confirmed that Michael Jackson had Lupus, Depak Chopra and Dr. Klein, his skin doctor.  This is a very painful disease and could easily explain his abuse of painkillers, especially given his line of work.  I can't imagine trying to dance with this disease--it almost seems impossible--as it tends to inflame every joint in the body.  The man wasn't 'weird,' he was very, very ill --especially the last ten years.

The Real Reason for Michael Jackson's Death? His Secret Fatal Illness

Was the King of pop really felled by prescription drug use and abuse ? Those who speculate on this theory could be dead wrong! Instead, Michael could very well be the victim of the lupus he suffered from.

Did you know that Michael Jackson, was the victim of a rare auto-immune disease called lupus? Yes, he was according to his Wikipedia biography and as it turns out -- lupus sufferers frequently die in their 40s and 50's from sudden heart attacks, caused by atherosclerosis. Let me explain.

Lupus causes inflammation in many of the body's organs including the arteries of the heart. The inflamed arteries then cause cholesterol to deposit on their walls. These deposits cause scarring, and the whole process primes lupus victims to have massive heart attacks, which are often asymptomatic beforehand.

Mild lupus sufferers, like Jackson, are actually more at risk for having a fatal heart attack, according to Dr Michael Lockshin, a rheumatologist at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. The reason for this is because people who have a mild case of lupus are less likely to take any of the medications which would prevent inflammation of the organs.

Now if you don't believe that Jackson had lupus consider this: vitiligo, which Jackson also suffered from, resulting in the famous pigment loss in his skin, is also an auto-immune disease. Coincidentally, vitiligo and lupus are often diagnosed in the same person, explains Dr. Lockshin. In other words, it would not have been unusual for Michael Jackson to have suffered from both ailments.

Here's another key fact: African-Americans are four times more like to be lupus victims than Caucasians. However, lupus is far more common in women than men. Still men, do get it.

So would prescription drug abuse have exacerbated a case of lupus? Only if demerol was injected intravenously, would it also have damaged Jackson's heart, according to Dr. Lockshin. Demerol injected into his muscles would not have played a deadly role and neither would drugs like Xanax and Zoloft.

Lupus also frequently causes inflammation and pain in the joints, which could explain why Jackson was sometimes seen in a wheel chair. This might also explain why Jackson had not performed in years. Maybe it wasn't just the stress of the child molestation charges and trials that forced him to put his performance career on hold. Maybe, he was simply unwilling to share his medical problems with the public.

Until a possible lupus-induced heart attack felled him, the King of Pop may have preferred to preserve the illusion that he was still, at least in some ways, invincible!

yeah, i sorta made fun of MJ i feel, bad now.

forgive me.

chuckt/euty

There's a lot of that sentiment going around right now.... :sigh:

I think this is very true.
I think a lot of folks saw Michael Jackson as a neverending source of amusement/ridicule.
Instead of seeing him as a human being.
Now they are realizing that yes, he was a human being.
With feelings.

Perhaps, in death, Michael will have changed some for the better.
I say this from experience.
Sometimes a death can bring about a sorrow about what you did or did not do for a person.
This can either make you go downhill, or it can make you reach out for God's hand.

Let's all just pray that it makes a lot of people reach out for God's hand.

Peace.

Amen..

I have been listening to "Stranger in Moscow" by Michael for days now..almost non-stop. This song is so deep, you have to listen to the words. He was expresses his lonliness and pain he felt on a tour in Moscow..But, the words of the song also speak of how lonely he felt.

This is probably one of his most beautiful songs ever written and so deep..

I miss Michael, I truly loved him and his music.

I was wandering in the rain
Mask of life, feelin' insane
Swift and sudden fall from grace
Sunny days seem far away
Kremlin's shadow belittlin' me
Stalin's tomb won't let me be
On and on and on it came
Wish the rain would just let me

How does it feel (How does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
When you're alone
And you're cold inside

Here abandoned in my fame
Armageddon of the brain
KGB was doggin' me
Take my name and just let me be
Then a begger boy called my name
Happy days will drown the pain
On and on and on it came
And again, and again, and again...
Take my name and just let me be

How does it feel (How does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel (How does it feel now)
How does it feel
How does it feel
When you're alone
And you're cold inside

How does it feel (How does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel (How does it feel now)
How does it feel
How does it feel
When you're alone
And you're cold inside

Like stranger in Moscow
Like stranger in Moscow
We're talkin' danger
We're talkin' danger, baby
Like stranger in Moscow
We're talkin' danger
We're talkin' danger, baby
Like stranger in Moscow
I'm live in lonely
I'm live in lonely, baby
Stranger in Moscow

..........

Well, I watched the "memorial" ........and all I can say is that
"I felt the Lord!"

Our whole family watched it together.  It was beautiful.   Michael Jackson was used by God yesterday to reach into hearts across the globe.  In his death, he did more than he ever could have done with a 'come-back' tour which he was planning.  And to imagine a man as emaciated as him facing a tour of 50 concerts while he was obviously in unimaginable physical and emotional pain - it is hard to think of it.   I'm glad God took him before he had to do that last tour and vindicated Michael before the eyes of his enemies yesterday.

Anne

So true...God used him big time. He was definitely vindicated. I think his little girl put the icing on the cake.  :icon_flower:

No, this is not ALL we can talk about.  It is ONE thing among many that are making our hearts heavy.  Your comment sounds very self-righteous.

Hi noname, I can only speak for myself, but I suspect it's true for many others as well.  We are mourning the loss of a very big voice that was calling for an end of all that nonsense.

Let us dream of tomorrow where we can truly love from the soul, and know love as the ultimate truth at the heart of all creation.

Anne,
I understand that the death of mj makes your heart heavy...how heavy do you think american atrocities make the hearts of those mothers that has to suffer your aggression every day? what is the weight of a million people being slaughtered over the last 4 years? and still more and more blood must flow...where are the threads on this "christian" or "UR" forum screaming out? where are the threads condemning the atrocities at abu graib, guantanamo, and all the other hells people are being kept? when someone starts a thread about these things...it gets deleted?
but a crotch grabbing child molester (yes he was found not guilty but so was oj) is hailed as a hero?

He was our family member and we'll deal with our grief our way, thank you. It's a pity that Michael had the same goals you espouse (to end suffering) and yet all you believe about him is whatever the corrupt press said who made the biggest scene on earth and then fell strangely quiet after Michael's acquittal (though it has been proven that the people behind the accusations were money hungry cons who made the molestation stories up).

God bless your zeal for righteousness but you're barking up the wrong tree here, and again, we'll deal with our grief our way. Also, please list the practical ways you are ending suffering - I could print many many pages of how Michael did that. (P.S. Ranting and raving online doesn't count)

What about sunrise
What about rain
What about all the things
That you said we were to gain...
What about killing fields
Is there a time
What about all the things
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice
All the blood we've shed before
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores?

Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah

What have we done to the world
Look what we've done
What about all the peace
That you pledge your only son...
What about flowering fields
Is there a time
What about all the dreams
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice
All the children dead from war
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores

Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah

I used to dream
I used to glance beyond the stars
Now I don't know where we are
Although I know we've drifted far

Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah

Hey, what about yesterday
(What about us)
What about the seas
(What about us)
The heavens are falling down
(What about us)
I can't even breathe
(What about us)
What about apathy
(What about us)
I need you
(What about us)
What about nature's worth
(ooo, ooo)
It's our planet's womb
(What about us)
What about animals
(What about it)
We've turned kingdoms to dust
(What about us)
What about elephants
(What about us)
Have we lost their trust
(What about us)
What about crying whales
(What about us)
We're ravaging the seas
(What about us)
What about forest trails
(ooo, ooo)
Burnt despite our pleas
(What about us)
What about the holy land
(What about it)
Torn apart by creed
(What about us)
What about the common man
(What about us)
Can't we set him free
(What about us)
What about children dying
(What about us)
Can't you hear them cry
(What about us)
Where did we go wrong
(ooo, ooo)
Someone tell me why
(What about us)
What about babies
(What about it)
What about the days
(What about us)
What about all their joy
(What about us)
What about the man
(What about us)
What about the crying man
(What about us)
What about Abraham
(What was us)
What about death again
(ooo, ooo)
Do we give a damn

I personally think a reminder that many are suffering is a good thing.  We need to pray for all men everywhere, and do good when we are able and specifically led.  However, I don't think there's one person on here that's attacking anyone overseas, slaughtering anybody, or making blood flow. Specifically, I don't think Anne is bringing aggression to anyone.  No single person on here is "America", or able to make our government do what it needs to do - though I don't think anyone of us has any need whatsoever to apologize for being an American.  We will all individually give account for our deeds before God, as well as this and every other country as a whole (sheep and goats/national judgment).  God has been good to this country, though we do have consequences for our behavior and disobedience as a nation.  In the end, we each individually need to give thanks, walk humbly before our God, and help those in need when we have occasion.

Just as we all, Michael suffered the consequences of things in his life, including of his and others' making.  He was probably a victim as much or more than a perpetrator, and is another child of God that our Father knows exactly what to do with.

Neither should there be vulgar speech, foolish talk, or coarse jesting--all of which are out of character--but rather thanksgiving.  Eph. 5:4  **  Saved 1John 3.2, Eph. 2:8, John 1:12 - Being saved 2Cor. 4:16 2Peter 3:18 - Will be saved 1Peter 1:5 Romans 8:23

There has not a single day gone by since America chose to respond to 9/11 with more war that I have not grieved over my country.  But of course, you, Noname, obviously do not know me.  There are many horrors in my face that break my heart each and every day, and I do not have the power to stop these things.   Jesus was crucified and we are all crucified with him.   As far as my feelings about Michael Jackson go, it is his mother and his children whom I grieve for at this time.

I think the key word is RAGE which is your problem.  I deal with my own rage about injustice as well.  But it is ignorance to deal with it by accusing others of not caring about the pathetic condition of the world (as if we are omnipotent beings who can control everything going on!)  Think about it, seriously.   Get off the high horse for your own sake.

Hi Noname,

I don't see why we couldn't have a thread in the members section where we just list various things that we feel others should look at.  Thanks for bringing that hijacked relief ship to my attention.  I wasn't aware of that, and Cynthia McKinney is one of my heroes.  Sometimes you have to search for this type of news because whereas they will put 5 hours of news on tv a day about michael jackson, they will not even mention an event like that.  But, it was out there in the print media.  I just wasn't reading the print media for a few weeks.

It seems to me that just by being aware of what is going on --it has to help 1) because they work so hard to keep us unaware, and 2) because Jesus said it would.

So--go for it.  Start a thread!

But, in general, don't assume people are not paying attention, and even doing things.  They are.  But, more importantly, the consciousness of people has to change, and it is.   Of that, I am as sure as I am hopeful for the better things He has promised us--abundant life, for everyone.

McKinney Returns to U.S. After Release From Israeli Jail
Former Georgia Rep. Cynthia McKinney was released from Israeli custody Monday after being detained for trying to break the naval blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Tuesday, July 07, 2009

Former Georgia Rep. Cynthia McKinney returned to the U.S. Tuesday after being detained in an Israeli prison for trying to break the naval blockade of the Gaza Strip, according to a statement from the Green Party.

McKinney and 20 activists from the "Free Gaza Movement" were arrested June 30 when their boat attempted to sail from Cyprus to Gaza to deliver three tons of aid to Palestinians -- a move meant to bring attention to the blockade imposed by Israel and Egypt on the territory after terror group Hamas seized power there two years ago.

McKinney, who was the Green Party's candidate for president in 2008, claimed in a statement that she was arrested and imprisoned in a jail in Ramla, Israel, "because we wanted to give crayons to the children in Gaza."

"If Israel fears for its security because Gaza's children have crayons then not only has Israel lost its last shred of legitimacy, but Israel must be declared a failed state," McKinney said.

Now, I never thought I would respond to a dead thread; here I am:

59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

So, Why so sad everyone???

Is there no faith in the land?

Why mourn, when you KNOW Jesus????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
