Oh! That quote brought tears to my eyes. He was quite the scholar, preacher, and prayer warrior. You never know what he might have seen before he left this world. I'm horribly ignorant of Charles Spurgeon's writings. I have his morning and evening devotional and a book that he wrote on joy, but I've always found them hard to really get into. John Gavazzoni recommends Spurgeon really really highly. Thanks for reminding me to ask him if he's bumped into any UR in Spurgeon's writings. I'd been meaning to email him about that, but I've been sooo busy that it's never really been on one of my things to do lists. Just one of those things where I've thought, that when I think about it, I'm going to go ahead and ask him about Spurgeon.
No hunches or anything like that. I know very little about that man that so many Calvinists, Arminians, and even a few Universalists have thought was such an oracle. Anyway, before I forget about it, I'm going to email him about it. If he passes along anything interesting, I'll post it on this thread.
