Hope of a tree cut down
« on: June 23, 2009, 06:37:56 PM »
Luke 3:9
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: Everytree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn ( Cut ) down, and cast into the fire.

Job 14:7
For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

Perhaps there is a connection here. What do you think? Sounds like good news to me.

This is how I see it...

Every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is cut down, in hope that it will sprout again not as a tree bringing forth bad fruit but as a tree bringing forth the peaceable fruit of righteousness.

That's a really good connection. It reminds me of the Biblical principle: "That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies." When the tree is cut down, it leaves room for a seed. and "When (God's) judgments are in the earth the people of the world learn righteousness."

And are not ALL THINGS POSSIBLE with God? If it's God will that ALL men be saved, and God does all his pleasure (keep in mind, the opposite of his pleasure would be for ANY to perish or die), then surely God will cause those trees that are cut down to sprout again. As he's said: I kill and I make alive. I wound and I heal.

My idea. Well unscriputal guesswork is a better expression I think.

God=roots=below the ground
The rest that's above the ground=how we develop (spiritually)

If it turns out badly cut down the tree and start growing from the good roots again.

It's also an extreme form of pruning (koalis=correction)
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Matthew 21:19
And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

Matthew 3:7
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

hmmm...That is a wonderful way of connecting that. When a tree is cut down, it can grow again. I think many just look at the fact that it was cut down and BURNED.
