Angels are never referred to as having gender. However, the only angels that are named have been assigned by us humans as being male, like Gabriel and Michael.

I prefer to use the term "messenger", we don't really know what these messengers (angels) are, and I'm sure they aren't what we are taught they are.

Gabriel and Michael are names which mean something, we shouldn't be short-sighted and see mere names.
