I was in a Pizza place today buying my son a gift card for Christmas (he's 24) and I heard a woman say to her little son. "Now Billy, you need to share with your sister." Billy says, "NO" defiantly. Then Momma says, "I hope someday when you get older you ask your sister to share and she won't do it. Then you'll learn."
I'm not a super parent, but I thought to myself, how will someone treating him selfishly teach him NOT to be selfish?
Do we learn to love others more because of Jesus, or would we love people more if we were physically, mentally, and emotionally abused by them?
If hellfire is eternal, how would the sinners learn and benefit from it? And even if they did learn something, of what use would that learning be since they are forever trapped?
Even that Momma wouldn't torment her child forever for not sharing, yet that's what the ET's say our Father does if we even commit one sin and die without Christ.
Even the heathen pagans know how the proper way to treat their children. How much more will our Father the perfect parent treat us?
