I absolutely believe that we will remember our loved ones....
No doubt about it!  It will be one of the most amazing, awesome, unbelievably happy things that God has planned for us. What would honor God more than to have so many loving relationships... reunited. To have so many people have their grief QUENCHED? To have so many people so completey thrilled and ecstatic to do all of those things for their loved ones they wished they would have done on earth. Most grief involves guilt and regret and remorse over not having loved ENOUGH. Over not having shown their loved one ENOUGH love. Think of the JOY the Father will feel to see His beloved children so incredibly happy to be able to heap love upon one another!!!! Think of that beautiful, fantastic picture. How utterly incredible. And what a loving tribute to our God.

God IS love.

Love is eternal.

Now as far as the other stuff, things we did on earth, etc. I do believe we will have memory. But we will be so infused with knowledge, so far ABOVE our earthly lives that there will be no sorrow about our lives. We will finally be able to see CLEARLY and realize the futility we were subjected to while on earth. Perhaps, our lives on earth will be as a vaguely remembered dream. We remember the big picture, maybe not ALL the details? Maybe. Maybe not. Perhaps it will be like old ruins... a memorial. A memorial to what life was like living in the shadow of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. I think that yes, our lessons will be ingrained in us. And we will forever know just how wonderful LOVE is. and how futile and useless and NOTHING non-love is.

I believe we will remember everything and nothing at the same time. I bet you that is the best way to describe it.  :laughing7: I think our view will just be so much higher... that it's going to be ok. Really, everything is going to be ok. We will be immersed in love, pure LOVE. and everything is going to be ok. There really is no need to even worry.

We will all be so in love with love and so in love with our loved ones and so in love with all of creation, and so in love with God... nothing else is going to matter. Maybe our life lessons will be like a little pebble in our pocket that we carry around. To always somehow, on some level always remind us how wonderful our new lives are. How simply wonderful....

peace.  :HeartThrob:
"I knelt to drink,
And knew that I was on the brink
Of endless joy. And everywhere
I turned I saw a wonder there."

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

How will you know how perfect Heaven is if you cannot remember all the details of your life on Earth?

Besides, and this one is simply my opinion, it would be pretty decietful to deprive a person of their memories of their friends and loved ones, particularly those of the "unsaved".  I believe that the question of memory largely stems from ETers trying to find a way to make people understand that they won't feel sad for their loved ones who don't make it into Heaven.  I figured that this was pretty underhanded reasoning.

I think that is one reason, too.

I have been in a lot of torment lately. and I just read my response, not realizing at first it was MY response...
and I was thinking to myself... "YES!! Hallelujah!" and then I realized I was reading my own words... :laughing7:

I thought that was kind of funny.
My own words came back and ministered to me and helped me out.
heehee. that was cool/weird/uplifting and brought me out of my torments for now.. :HeartThrob:

Only part of the ET group.
The fry-hards of the ETs don't forget about the others. They even feel pleasure by watching the unsaved been tortured.

I wouldn't think someone speaking a primary language other than English is supposed to be able to do this.  Pretty good bro, I like it.  :hihat:

Dukes of Hazzard, huh?

Neither should there be vulgar speech, foolish talk, or coarse jesting--all of which are out of character--but rather thanksgiving.  Eph. 5:4  **  Saved 1John 3.2, Eph. 2:8, John 1:12 - Being saved 2Cor. 4:16 2Peter 3:18 - Will be saved 1Peter 1:5 Romans 8:23

sorta off-topic but...
When I was a wee kid in the 70's watching Dukes of Hazard, I always used to think his name was Roscoe Pekoe Train.

This is something that has been disturbing me for quite some time now and I thought it would be appropriate to ask here, seeing as many others may wonder the same as I do...

Do you think you will remember the things you have seen, done, and experienced on the earth once you are dead and out of your humanly body? The reason I say it like this is because one of the things I see that majorly opposes the possibility is that memories, and thought are stored in your human mind... something not taken with you after your death.

You will remember everything, but from the perspective of perfection which will be the realization of truth, not imperfection.

1 Timothy 2:4

Will we remember in Heaven?  Hmmm... maybe Heaven will be like it is in Haibane Renmei!  *shock*

But seriously, I don't think our memories are entirely wiped out.  In some ways this just gives the ETers an advantage.  Namely, you won't remember who was important in your life, so you won't miss them when their in Hell.

Let us know that there are "heavens" and then there is HEAVEN above
all "heavens"

Let us know that the "heavens and earth" were created by God
but ........the heavens that perish will roll up as a scroll...

Of course, you can KNOW people in those heavens....perhaps
you dream of folks......for instance.

But in the eternal heaven above the heaven where Jesus is, He
dwells in the light which no man can approach.

I don't think we can imagine..........man thinks he can, but it
is too glorious. And just think, YOU are invited to this place.

And what if your father is Pontius Pilate? God gives you a false memory of parents? Surely Pilate isn't on the guest list of heaven?
The pharaoh never existed. Herod didn't. But all those people were key figures in the Bible.
We are told not to change even one letter of the Bible. But Father rips out half of it because it (in)directly referers to people in hell? And... why did Jesus die? All people on earth were saints. Everyone is in heaven. Ok most are in hell but because that memory is wiped out fron the pov of people in heaven all made it into heaven.
I thought satan is the father of lies. But with (selective) memory wipes Father becomes Father of deception instead of truth....

I don't know how all tears can be wiped away and how we can be happy living next to the person that tortured us to death. But livuing is a great dellusion for eternity doesn't sound Biblical. :2c:

   "I MAKE EVERYTHING NEW"

New creature  new earth  new heavens

new; having existed or having been made but a short time

with refernce to a person himself or a thing itself, having been seen or known but a short time

having been in some relationship, condition or position but a short time

DIFFERENT OR DISTINGUISHED FROM A PERSON,PLACE OR THING OF THE SAME KIND OR NAME

we are not even going to recognize our former selves..why

we even get a NEW NAME..we will be SO CHANGED...

you will not recognize Pontius Pilate..he will have a different

 name and different nature

Our New name and nature and identity will be after the SPIRIT

not after any former fleshly identity.

Jesus even told us..call no man your Father on earth.

do you think you will recognize fleshly relatives up in heaven?

be saying 'Hi Dad!etc' to your fleshly relatives?

No..they will all be your spiritual relatives.  flesh of my

flesh, blood of my blood of Jesus Christ. They are your eternal

family, all that has been before is temporal.

For instance, the marital bond..until death do ye part.

consider Jesus talking to those questioning who would be

married to the woman who had a succession of seven husbands.

He said , you do err because you know not the power of God,

the children of the resurrection are like the angels, they are the

children of God. Up there you are not known as the son of so

and so..but the son of God. Neither the wife of so and so..but

you are a new creation

A new creation has it's own new unique identity
