Verse Chain - Our High Priest who intercedes!
« on: October 27, 2010, 10:22:14 PM »
Rom 8:31-35 -KJV

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Rom 8:31-35 -CLV

What then, shall we declare to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? Surely, He Who spares not His own Son, but gives Him up for us all, how shall He not, together with Him, also, be graciously granting us all? Who will be indicting God's chosen ones? God, the Justifier? Who is the Condemner? Christ Jesus, the One dying, yet rather being roused, who is also at God's right hand, who is pleading also for our sakes? What shall be separating us from the love of God in Christ Jesus? Affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

Christ is pleading, and interceding for our sakes.

Luk 23:34  Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
-KJV

Luk 23:34 Now Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they are not aware what they are doing. Now dividing His garments, they cast the lot."
-CLV

Heb 7:24-25  But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
-KJV

Heb 7:24-25 yet that One, because of His remaining for the eon, has an inviolate priesthood. Whence, also, He is able to save to the uttermost those coming to God through Him, always being alive to be pleading for their sake.
-CLV

Jesus prays for the salvation of all men in accordance to the will of the Father, because he always prays in accordance to the will of the Father, and I am certain that he prays always that "his will be done on earth as it is in Heaven".  In essence, there is ample reason to assume, and ample evidence to support that Jesus intercedes for the wicked, as well as the righteous, especially due to the fact that he intercedes anyway.

So basically, Jesus prays for us, all of us, and prays for all of us to be saved.  It is hardly deniable in the face of the scriptures.

Ah!  But here is were it gets delicious...

1John 2:1  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
-KJV

There is no one in Christendom who would deny that Jesus Christ was righteous, sinless, and without blemish.

And so we get to this...

Proverbs 10:24  The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
-KJV

Proverbs 10:24  What the wicked one shrinks from, it shall come to him, And what the righteous yearn for shall be given.
-CLV

Now...If indeed, and assuredly so it is that Jesus Christ is righteous, and surely so he is praying in the will of The Father, and interceding and praying for the salvation of all men, which is also in accordance to the will of The Father...Then by the witness of the scriptures Jesus Christ shall be granted his request!

Will The Father deny the requests of The Son who asks in accordance to The Father's very own will?!  Will The Father lie, and his proverb made a lie?!

NEVER I SAY!  NEVER!
CLV: Proverbs 10:12 Hatred, it rouses up quarrels, Yet love covers over all transgressions.
KJV: Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
