My personal conclusions after studying the various positions on these things is as follows.
When the children of Israel passed through the Red Sea, their captors, the strong man- the horse and rider, were buried in the closing waters (death and separation).
When we become the children of God we are born, not of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of the will of God- born of an incorruptible seed that contains everything pertaining to life and godliness.
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Even as when the death angel passed over and the firstborn of Israel were preserved by the blood on the doorpost, our spirit man is rescued from the sentence of death by the blood of Jesus Christ- applied through repentence and faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God- but how shall they hear unless someone preach.
The death of the old man, sets us free from the curse. Yet, unless the declaration is "made and heard" it remains unfruitful, like a treasure unopened.
Even as Christ overcame death "because it could not hold Him", we have passed from death unto life- yet as Lazarus we sometimes need some "unwrapping".
No curse can hold a child of God, neither from forefathers, nor from previous generations of land holders, because as children of God we are aliens and strangers- no longer residents of this kosmos. We have been set free into the glorious liberty of the sons of God.... "For freedom Christ has set you free- why then do you submit to a yoke of bondage?"
Many who teach generational curses are leading the children of God in circles through the wilderness. The declaration of our freedom from our own past sins and the sins of our fathers is the gospel of Jesus Christ and it sets the captives free when declared in the spirit and "heard with faith". The blood is applied and the death angel passes over.
Buried with Him in baptism, the answer of a clean conscience before God (a cleared conscience, every indictment and curse attached to the old man now broken and buried as in the Red Sea passage) we rise free- to enter the inheritance- " If you continue in My word you will be my disciples indeed(in reality, in actual manifestation) and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free."
While a child of God may be deceived into believing a curse can have authority over them- in truth no curse can hold beyond the "blood of the covenant that speaks better than Abel's....having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil consciousness and our bodies washed with pure water".
What I am saying is that if we were effective in administering the truth of the gospel that was given "once and for all", then disciples would experience freedom from curse within the administration of the gospel. The enemies only power is the agreement of the carnal mind. God has given us in the gospel, "translation from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His glorious light", and the rending of the "veil that covers the nations". The god of this world uses this veil to keep men from seeing "the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God."
Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?" Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. "For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself." And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation!" So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.
