Deep truths
« on: April 16, 2010, 05:30:39 AM »

Is anyone familiar with generational curses and perhaps blessings?
I hope Cardinal is recently reading our posts.
This is one thing that I truly do not understand.
How could a family be cursed down through its generations?

greetings friend!

how i understand it is that the curse is passed on because the lack of knowledge is passed on.

another words, if a man does not pass on the knowledge of God to his children, chances are those children wont believe, etc.

(( i know families like this ))

what a sad state for a human being to be without the knowledge of the GOD OF LOVE!!

but we all know that God breaks thru for his own purpose and in his own time.

(( what it does NOT meanis that personal sin is passed on ))

bless you

My personal conclusions after studying the various positions on these things is as follows.

When the children of Israel passed through the Red Sea, their captors, the strong man- the horse and rider, were buried in the closing waters (death and separation).

When we become the children of God we are born, not of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of the will of God- born of an incorruptible seed that contains everything pertaining to life and godliness.

Gal 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Rom 6:4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Even as when the death angel passed over and the firstborn of Israel were preserved by the blood on the doorpost, our spirit man is rescued from the sentence of death by the blood of Jesus Christ- applied through repentence and faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God- but how shall they hear unless someone preach.

The death of the old man, sets us free from the curse. Yet, unless the declaration is "made and heard" it remains unfruitful, like a treasure unopened.

Even as Christ overcame death "because it could not hold Him", we have passed from death unto life- yet as Lazarus we sometimes need some "unwrapping".

No curse can hold a child of God, neither from forefathers, nor from previous generations of land holders, because as children of God we are aliens and strangers- no longer residents of this kosmos. We have been set free into the glorious liberty of the sons of God.... "For freedom Christ has set you free- why then do you submit to a yoke of bondage?"

Many who teach generational curses are leading the children of God in circles through the wilderness. The declaration of our freedom from our own past sins and the sins of our fathers is the gospel of Jesus Christ and it sets the captives free when declared in the spirit and "heard with faith". The blood is applied and the death angel passes over.

Buried with Him in baptism, the answer of a clean conscience before God (a cleared conscience, every indictment and curse attached to the old man now broken and buried as in the Red Sea passage) we rise free- to enter the inheritance- " If you continue in My word you will be my disciples indeed(in reality, in actual manifestation) and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free."

While a child of God may be deceived into believing a curse can have authority over them- in truth no curse can hold beyond the "blood of the covenant that speaks better than Abel's....having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil consciousness and our bodies washed with pure water".

What I am saying is that if we were effective in administering the truth of the gospel that was given "once and for all", then disciples would experience freedom from curse within the administration of the gospel. The enemies only power is the agreement of the carnal mind. God has given us in the gospel, "translation from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His glorious light", and the rending of the "veil that covers the nations". The god of this world uses this veil to keep men from seeing "the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God."

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
(2Co 4:1-7)

Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?" Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. "For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself." And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation!" So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.

I have been waiting to decide if I should respond to this thread, however I do believe we are a product of our enviroment, sometimes this is a curse sometimes a blessing.
From my understanding we pick up habits from our caretakers/parents when very young.
I am speaking general thoughts but in my family there was drinkers and drug users especially on the male side.
It is just carried down from generation to generation, sometimes may be genetic sometimes not.
I believe the curse can be broken with the help of God, I hated being in the middle of this when I was young so broke the curse by God making a path for me to leave.
If I had stayed then probably would have been a drinker or drug user, I am not being judgemental this is just the way I see it from experience.
I have noticed this in other families also.  :2c:

Well, in one sense, are we not all living under the curse of the first Adam?  We are bound to a natural realm, relying on natural reasoning to govern us through this realm rather than living limitlessly free in the spirit of the garden where we were originally placed.

Noah cursed his son and grandchildren who later became the recipient to become the enemies of God's chosen people.

In the New Testament, they cried for Barabas and when Pilate questioned them about what to do with Jesus, they cursed themselves and their own children by declaring that the blame for the blood of Jesus should fall on them and their kids . . .which is the culmination of what transpired in 70 AD.

So if generational curses affected them in both the Old Testament and the New, then it's evident that these same curses could continue to be passed on to our generations today.  Which increases the importance of how we handle our conversations and words with each other.

In what little I know about quantum, I'm amazed at how sound can stimulate the atmosphere.  Be it through music or voices the microscopic atoms respond to what's being said and sung which affects us greatly as a  result.  But it's the natural way of explaining these mysterious happenings from one generation to another.

:cloud9: Just saw this thread.......From everything He has shown me from the beginning, yes generational curses are real. They are, in part, what we overcome.

Read Deut. 28 and see if anything in there looks familiar to what your family line has gone thru. God plainly outlines all the curses for disobedience to His Word. He also says in there that if we obey He will not put any of the curses of the Egyptians on us. We know Egypt is a type of flesh.

We know it today as sowing and reaping; sow to the wind, reap the whirlwind. Matt. 13 parable of the wheat and the tares, actually reveals how we overcome these things.

People tend to want to separate what happened to natural Israel as being only their portion, but in fact it says all the things that happened to them were for our example.

I believe it's because we are "spiritual" Israel, which is why we go thru Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles, which He declared was to go on FOREVER.

Obviously the natural sacrifices stopped, so did God lie about it going on forever? No, it just changed in application and depth of understanding.

The whole Tabernacle pattern speaks of dealing with the flesh and it's spiritual bondages. There is a spiritual root of anything manifested in the physical. Adam and Eve broke spiritual spoken- by-God "word/breath" and it had immediate manifestation in the natural as curses when they transgressed it.

Few really like to hear how these curses are carried out. The darkness is His servant, and they carry out the judgments of God. These judgments for us are not intended to be to the death, but to bring repentance and provide something to overcome.

Like a muscle that only grows larger and stronger thru continued use by opposition, so too does He raise us up and strengthen us by the opposition/vanity that we have been dropped into.

There are many examples of these things being revealed thru prayer, but one example of how this works stands out in my mind. After explaining generational curses to them, I was praying for someone, who just minutes before had adjusted his T-shirt collar. His wife and he commented about how he can't stand to have anything touch his neck, he had a phobia about it.

When I prayed, the Lord said (thru the gift of word of knowledge)the reason for it was a constricting spirit. I came against it and we went on talking.

About 5 minutes later, talking about generational curses, I said, "The reason we need to pray to ask God to reveal these things is because He cursed them to the 3rd or 4th generation, and how could we know what sins our great-great grandfather did?"

He chimed in, "I do! He was a horse thief and they HUNG HIM."

God was faithful to confirm His word about generational curses by revealing one to him. Blessings.....

Generational curses are real- but the gospel of Jesus Christ administered in faith through the Spirit is the cure.-

"Be saved from this perverse generation"

No longer in Adam, but in Christ, seated above all principality and power- yet it is through "hearing with faith" we receive the ascension.

Born not of the will of man nor of the will of the flesh but of the will of God- becoming partakers of the divine nature.

Believers need to be taught, and to hear with faith, that even as death could not hold Him- it cannot hold us because we are "in Him". We are free from the old husband if we will but believe it.
