1 Tim 2:1-7 (AMP and NLT)
1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.
2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way.
3 For such [praying] is good and right, and it is pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior,
4 Who wishes ALL MEN TO BE SAVED and increasingly to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the divine Truth.
5 For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity -- the man Christ Jesus.
6 He gave His life to purchase FREEDOM FOR EVERYONE. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.
7 And I have been chosen as a preacher and apostle to teach this message about faith and truth.
DAILY PRAYER (Based on Pss 86, 88, 95)
Incline Your ear, O Lord, and answer us, for we are poor, distressed, needy
For we trust in You (leaning and believing, committing all and confidently looking to You, without fear or doubt)
Be merciful and gracious to all, O Lord, for to You we cry all the day
Make us, Your servants, to rejoice, O Lord, for to You do we lift up our prayers
Give ear, O Lord, to our prayers; and listen to the cry of our supplications,
In these days of great turmoil, we call on You, for You will answer us.
Teach us Your way, O Lord, that we may walk and live in Your Truth; direct and unite our hearts to fear and honor Your name.
All nations whom You have made shall come and fall down before You, O Lord; and they shall gloriofy Your name. For You are great and work wonders! You alone are God.
O Lord, turn to our country and have mercy and be gracious to it.
We thank You, O Lord for You are merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy and loving-kindness and Truth.
We will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with our mouths we will make known Your faithfulness to all generations.
