1 Corinthians 6:9,10 Unrighteous Won't Inherit Kingdom

To use this passage to support the doctrine of hell is a manifestation that they have misunderstood (read: they are veilled) what the Kingdom of God is.
It is not the Heavens the place where God dwells.
It is the manifestation of God's power and rule through Christ in the elect.
It is a spiritual Kingdom.
The unrighteous do not inherit this Kingdom because they love not God and do not remain in His Love.

1 John 4:
7 Beloved, we should be loving one another, for love is of God, and everyone who is loving God is begotten of God, and knows God.
8 He who is not loving knew not God, for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God among us, that God has dispatched His only-begotten Son into the world that we should be living through Him.
10 In this is love, not that we love God, but that He loves us, and dispatches His son, a propitiatory shelter concerned with our sins.
11 Beloved, if thus God loves us, we also ought to be loving one another.

Using this verse and the many others like it to prove "eternal hell" is a fallacy on many levels.  The "eternal hell" view relies on these two incorrect assumptions:

1.  The assumption that the Kingdom of heaven is "heaven" (AKA a final blissful end-state)
2.  The assumption that the unrighteous cannot be converted to become righteous

Point 2 is the real kicker here - ultimately, there will be no unrighteous people in existence.  They will have been converted to be righteous, for that is what Jesus will do - He makes "the many" (all men) righteous - see Romans 5.  This is done through a process of judgment - which teaches people what is right (ie. righteousness). 

Lets face it - we are all unrighteous (at some point).  This verse would condemn us all if we could not be converted.  So why allow the possibility that are unrighteous souls will be saved but discount it for others?

Sons and daughters inherit.

This verse speaks of those who have become sons and daughters through Christ, who can then call God "Father."  It says nothing of what happens to those identified by their behaviors as non-family members, other than they are not qualified to inherit or legally "own" the Kingdom all are intended to inhabit at some point.

You said much of my current understanding on this. I would add that to ENTER a place is not the same as owning it or inheriting it. The position of the saved in the kingdom is determined by their faithfulness. Christ speaks of this on a number of occasions. So none will enter the kingdom UNTIL they become righteous by believing in Jesus. So many will ENTER the kingdom who were unfaithful in life, and will not "inherit the kingdom, will have no possessions, no rulership, etc.," but nevertheless do enter since they are  born again. The place where I've changed recently, that the I believe that ALL will eventually enter the kingdom, but ONLY one way, by faith in Christ.

Exactly right GKM. So many non UR people suggest that we are saying everybody gets in no matter what. That's not what we are saying. We are saying,  "No person comes to the Father but through me."(Jesus speaking. So everyone will eventually trust in the shed blood of Jesus to cover their sins, if not in this life, then after death.

Personally, (back to the original post) The bible says that we(the saints deemed righteous by the blood of Christ) shall rule or reign with him(Christ) for an age. Who are we going to rule over? I think it will be the ones that did not bow the knee and acknowledge Jesus is Lord during their lifetime.

In the same manner, while it is true that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom, it is not correct to assume that some people will never inherit because they will never become righteous.  God, and His Bible did not say that, and the statement should be taken at face value, not with assumptions tacked on.  All will be made righteous...eventually...and inherit.  The inheritance rule will thus be upheld, just not in the way the carnal mind imagines.

Yeah this is how I see it. I don't believe the unrighteous can inherit the kingdom of God, because of what Jesus did. They must accept Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour and live righteosly. But for me this verse is talking about life in the present. i.e a unrighteous Christian lives as carnal and does not inherit the benefits of the kingdom, such as peace, righteousness, grace, power.

I watched EWTN and a priest said it best. He said that we live in his dominion and every part of us not given under his dominion does not have the victory of the kingdom.

Yes - that's an excellent way to see it, for we too often forget that the universe we life in is really God's kingdom, and that Satan is only a temporary pretender to the throne of it.
