The worm that doesn't die
« on: September 07, 2008, 10:22:55 AM »
Hmmmmmmmmmmm... I saw no thread on this board.

What do you think about that? In New Testament scriptures it appears that the undying worm is part hell. Debunkers of hell think it's basically a misinterpretation of the Prophet's books.

What is right here?

Yeah, but nobody tries to make references to the old testament "worms that won't die" in Issaiah

Is this what you are referencing?

Isaiah 66

22For, as the new heavens and the new earth that I am making, Are standing before Me, An affirmation of Jehovah! So remain doth your seed and your name.

 23And it hath been from month to month, And from sabbath to sabbath, Come do all flesh to bow themselves before Me, Said Jehovah.

 24And they have gone forth, And looked on the carcases of the men Who are transgressing against me, For their worm dieth not, And their fire is not quenched, And they have been an abhorrence to all flesh!

This sounds a lot like Revelations

1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth did pass away, and the sea is not any more;

 2and I, John, saw the holy city -- new Jerusalem -- coming down from God out of the heaven, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband;

 3and I heard a great voice out of the heaven, saying, `Lo, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and He will tabernacle with them, and they shall be His peoples, and God Himself shall be with them -- their God,

6and He said to me, `It hath been done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End; I, to him who is thirsting, will give of the fountain of the water of the life freely;

 7he who is overcoming shall inherit all things, and I will be to him -- a God, and he shall be to me -- the son,

 8and to fearful, and unstedfast, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the liars, their part [is] in the lake that is burning with fire and brimstone, which is a second death.' 24and the nations of the saved in its light shall walk, and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it,

 25and its gates shall not at all be shut by day, for night shall not be there;

 26and they shall bring the glory and the honour of the nations into it;

 27and there may not at all enter into it any thing defiling and doing abomination, and a lie, but -- those written in the scroll of the life of the Lamb.

Revelation 22
 1And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, bright as crystal, going forth out of the throne of God and of the Lamb:

 2in the midst of its broad place, and of the river on this side and on that, [is] a tree of life, yielding twelve fruits, in each several month rendering its fruits, and the leaves of the tree [are] for the service of the nations; 11he who is unrighteous -- let him be unrighteous still, and he who is filthy -- let him be filthy still, and he who is righteous -- let him be declared righteous still, and he who is sanctified -- let him be sanctified still:

 12And lo, I come quickly, and my reward [is] with me, to render to each as his work shall be;

 13I am the Alpha and the Omega -- the Beginning and End -- the First and the Last.

 14`Happy are those doing His commands that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of the life, and by the gates they may enter into the city;

 15and without [are] the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the whoremongers, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one who is loving and is doing a lie.

 16`I, Jesus did send my messenger to testify to you these things concerning the assemblies; I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright and morning star!

 17And the Spirit and the Bride say, Come; and he who is hearing -- let him say, Come; and he who is thirsting -- let him come; and he who is willing -- let him take the water of life freely.

The verse escapes me right now, I think it is in Jeremiah, and it says that this is the new covenant that I make, that I will write my laws on your heart, that no man will have to say 'know the Lord', but each will know Him from the least to the greatest. This is a picture of the New Heavens and the New Earth, or at least the starting point and will grow as the mustard seed. Notice that without are all kinds of evil, and I believe weeping and knashing of teeth, but notice that the gates are not shut but are open and anyone who thirsts may come. Those without are dead men being eaten by worms of guilt and being driven by the carnel lusts of the flesh.
