Funny how a person who believes in eternal torment...could say the same thing..."I believed in ET for 35 years until I came to this scriptural truth"....the reality is that everyone's beliefs can change and anyone can find a scripture to back up what they believe. The main and biggest message is that Life and Love are going to win the battle in the end...evil will never prevail..peace

I was hoping for a more scriptural discussion, in the stead of a simple emotional reply , but at any rate I appreciate your input.


It's not that I believe in eternal torment.

I believe in eternal destruction.

When you are no longer, you are not in torment.

Eternal torment is not apart of my ideology.

You missed what David, Jude and Peter were saying....

Psalm 92:7
When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

No eternal torment.  Just destruction, gone, out of here.

2 Peter 2:12
But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

Jude 1
12These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

Revelation 13:

Again John spoke of people, not demons or angels in the following:

Revelation 17
8The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Revelation 20:
14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

 15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.(this is the second death, of which those who believe in Christ can not be harmed by; eternal destruction)

To be apart of the second death is to no longer be.

There is no torment in death.  There is no aion fire in which the Love of God is casting folks, its hogwash.  There are children of the Love (vessels fitted for honor and life), and there are children of the Wrath (vessels fitted for destruction),  just as there is eternal life and there is eternal death.  Period.

I find it amazing that so many people can outright refuse to listen to the prophets and apostles.  And again I'm called a nay sayer because I believe them.

I am sure you are aware of James words that warn us not to be double minded as well as the fact that the mind is the collective reasoning of the soul sooooooo.............. would you be willing to consider that the ones who are destroyed are not individual persons but a part (the evil mind part) of the individual (s) so that who remains at th end will "be saved as by fire"? (to quote Paul)

It's not that I believe in eternal torment.

Aionios olethros is a message expressed within the revelation of the Spirit in the Apostle St. Paul's writings. Evidently the object of the destruction must be eternal as well as the Author of all things.  Do you know that at the end of olethros destruction there is life? 

The current Evangelical Theology involves in its system belief in the deathlessness of sin, the indestructibility of error, and permanence of evil. That though there was a time in the history of the universe when sin in any shape or form did not exist, when no cry of pain or sense of guilt darkened the all-extensive bliss and holiness of creation, yet since sin has once effected an entrance into such a scene, it has come in never to go out again, indestructible, unconquerable, ineradicable, endless. Absolute happiness and sinlessness have forever vanished like the phantom of a dream. The 'eternal state' is a universe endlessly finding room for myriads of souls rolling and writhing in the burning agonies of ceaseless flame, eternally sinful, vile and morally hideous. It pictures the "final perfection" yet to be attained as having room for a vast cesspool of immoral and degraded beings, continually existing in opposition to God. -Vladimir M. Gelesnoff-

Why would Paul speak of "hope" concerning a resurrection of the just and the unjust if the unjust were going to be raised only to be cast into a lake of fire forever?

All who do not come to Christ have HOPE in the Millinium.

If they do not come to him then, they will be destroyed (second death).

During this present age, there is no freewill.  Those who come to him during this current age (that we now abide in),  are CALLED and CHOSEN, not of their own will, but by the will of God.

Now speaking of the return of Christ, let us review his departure and the statement made to the apostles by the angels,...

Acts 1
Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven."

This return was spoken of by the prophets,....

Zechariah expounds on this topic (the Millinium, I.E. when he shall rule the nations with an iron rod):

5For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.

 6Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.

 7Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.

 8For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

 9For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.

 10Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion (Jerusalem from Above): for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.

 11And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.

 12And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.(Jerusalem from above, not by flesh and blood, but by the will of God)

 13Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.

Micah also spoke of the day of Jesus' return to establish his reign over the Kingdoms of the earth:

Micah 4
 1But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

 2And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

 3And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Again John while in the island of Patmos (well after Christ left the earth after his propitiation for all sins of the flesh), wrote of this second coming of Christ and his iron reign over the kingdoms of the earth:

Revelation 2
 25But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

 26And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

 27And he (Christ) shall rule them (earthy nations) with a rod of iron (why an iron rod?, because they do not want him to reign, they desire war and usery); as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

 28And I will give him the morning star.

 29He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
