hard to be condemned to a place that doesn't exist. The preist wouldn't have been condemned to sheol as that is simply the abode of the dead. We don't go immediately to judgment anyway. IMO, near death experiences are baloney.

I can't see youtube videos on my work computer.  But if it's the same as this one I can view in print, I'm inclined to say "nahhhh"  :)

He says Jesus told Mary, "Mother, he's yours..".  I don't see anything even close to scriptural about that.

About using NDE's to prove Hell...

In 2011... I watched about 15 episodes of AE Biography's series, I Survived: Beyond and Back.  They interview3 or 4 people's NDE per episode.  After watching about 4 episodes (16 people) you get a feel for how Christian's explain their story (and how the show producers try hard to eliminate any religious language from their stories).  You also can tell when the person explaining was not a Christian when their NDE happened.

The show is not scientific or doesn't seem to be trying to prove anything.  And who knows, maybe they just refuse to put the people with hell flames and fire on the show.  However, in hearing roughly 60 people tell their stories, none of the non-christians experienced anything vastly different than the christians.  The themes were all very similar.  Seeing a bright light.  Feeling unimaginable love and peace. 

One guy, who I identified as a possible non-christian, said he at first felt cold and was in a super darker than dark "outer-space" type prison "cell"... but not in an institutional prison... it was like he was in space but touched these walls of energy around him that held him inside.  From far, far away he saw a pin tip sized light than slowly became larger and larger until it complete engulfed him.  The closer it got the warmer he got and the more he was overwhelmed by peace and love.  The voice spoke to him and told him he had to go back.

NDE's are interesting stories.  The Hell ones are usually the most famously repeated.  But my bet is that just as many non-christians have stories just like the ones on Beyond and Back... where they experience a bright light and peace and love.

In an NDE, we are asked to believe that the person having it is actually experiencing reality- but Paul did not know, when he was caught up to the third heaven, whether he was in the body or out of it- and Paul was an experienced traveler in the spirit, having been raised from the dead(or near death) after stoning, raising a man from the dead, etc.

I do not believe all NDE's are invalid- I just believe they are interpreted according to the religious misinformation of the people that have them. I also believe some of them ARE invalid/phony/demonic/etc- especially the ones that end up in million selling books where the person gets rich off it :o)

A person sees the spiritual reality of Gehenna or the lake of fire, but they are not yet able to process it because they are carnal, because they are in a vision, and, because it is still a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God. The vision of His wrath is, for the natural mind, perhaps a very difficult pill to swallow.
