Does Satan want us to believe in Eternal Hell?

Many people claim that Satan is trying to deceive us into thinking that Hell is fake, and leading us to sin.  Other arguments have said that Satan wants us to believe in that horrible place.  Since we have seen that a belief in Hell has not really done any good, but induce humanity into fear.

I have a motto, and it goes "if the majority of the christian religion believes it, its probably exactly what Satan wants them to believe"

This isnt true on all things but Im coming to find its true on numerous things, such as eternal torment and free will. Both try to take salvation off of Christs shoulders and put them on us, IMO

I believe that because the doctrine of eternal torment teaches something about the purposes and character of God that is terribly distorted, it is part of the veil the god of this world has used to blind the eyes of men to the true gospel(eu-aggelo, good news). I believe he loves this doctrine and has killed to keep it. The gospel is, in its essence and in its overview, from Alpha to Omega, the revelation of the divine nature of the invisible, almighty Creator. To know Him as He Is- the I AM, the one who so loves the world He gave His only begotten son, is life eternal.
