Our Father’s Munificence

On Christmas Day, a friend of mine, Mike Owens, sent me his “word for the day.” Mike has made it a habit to learn a new word each day. The word for this Christmas Day was munificence. If the reader has ever come across this word, it was probably from reading or watching A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. After Uncle Scrooge’s encounter with the spirits of Christmas, Uncle Scrooge became very “munificent,” an extremely generous giver. Even as the word munificence is not in most people’s vocabulary, it is also not common knowledge that Charles Dickens believe in universal salvation, that is, the salvation of all mankind through the death, burial and resurrection of His Son, Jesus. Amazing love. Munificence at its highest!

And so as Tiny Tim observed, “God Bless Us, Everyone One!” And so He shall.

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all mankind to Myself. This He spoke signifying what manner He should die.” John 12:32, 33. Not even the Gates of hell can hold back the magnificent munificence of our Father and His Son. Matt. 16:18 If you need some help comprehending such lavish love, visit tentmaker.org, lovewins.us or what-the-hell-is-hell.com.
